Hi Folks

Any suggestions for a sound module with good stings.

What's the Ketron SD2 and SD4 like in this dept.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Frank

Super Natural sounds and the complete SRX library...WOW!!!

My guess it will be around $799 street price..Maybe Roland will surprise us and it will come in lower..

I didn't see specs, but I hope it has a GM2 map...and better yet a assignable GM map..

Here's the overview...

Flagship synth module with over 6,000 sounds built in
The latest SuperNATURAL sounds with enhanced Behavior Modeling technology for expressive acoustic instruments and accurate reproduction of performance articulations
Powerful SuperNATURAL synth engine with fat analog synth models and vintage filter types
Dynamic SuperNATURAL drum engine with natural tonal change derived from Roland V-Drums
Producer’s “must-have” SRX Expansion sound library built in; all 12 SRX titles included
Dedicated multi-effects and EQ for each part (16 parts), plus dedicated COMP+EQ (use six simultaneously) for drums and ambience parameters for SuperNATURAL drum kits
Innovative 17-part Motional Surround ambience engine for stereo, headphone, and 5.1-channel output
INTEGRA-7 Editor for iPad and Motional Surround VSTi Editor for SONAR software

-----------------------------

The drums of the V-Drums... An updated GM2 with new SFX with control. Since it has the new Motional Surround technology, my bet is it will MAP at a high $1499 price... or higher. If it's $799, I'll get one!!

Fran,

Hope your guess about the pricing is true coz 799 is a steal for those 6000 high quality sounds
and much more... And even if its for 1499.. I think its still a deal...

And you mentioned GM2/GM map... is this needed for playing back roland arranger styles through this module without need for tweaking/editing ? Sorry for asking but I am a dummy when it comes to MIDI. crazy

Thanks and Regards,
Jez

Mockie... don't forget, there is an SRX Strings board that can go into your G70. I have the -06 Orchestral board, and it's quite good. The -04 strings one sounds great too.

Obviously, not as detailed and extensive as some of the VSTi's, but you ought to be able to pick one up for a couple of hundred bucks.

Listen to the demos here: http://www.rolandus.com/flash/demos/srx/srx_demo.html

Drag the SRX-04 board onto the keyboards slots...
