Can you please tell me the difference between the KN6000 and KN6500. Is the KN6000 and KN6500 a good second hand instrument today. Where can I find free styles for these keyboards. I have a Solton MS60 at the moment which is showing its age. Any info greatfully recicved.

The KN6500 is an upgrade of the Kn6000 is is done by fitting an expansion board (easy job). There are several kn60/65's for sale on ebay for around the £350-400 mark and are very good value for money.
They are an excellent keyboards and a range of styles can be obtained on the net and they will play styles from previous Technics keyboards e.g. KN5000 excetera. Personally I would recommend the KN7000 which is well worth paying the extra money for, It still can hold it's own against the latest models from other manufacturers.Have a look on Bill Norries website: www.willumspages.co.uk. Bill is the expert in all things KN.

I’m with Roger on this one. A word about the kn6000. I had one and it was with problems; in fact after 10 trips of 100 miles Technics decided to gave me a Kn6500 without charge.
This does not mean all Kn6000 were bad units; but it is strange that all there keyboards followed this order; Kn1000 – Kn2000 – Kn3000 m – Kn5000 – Kn6000 AND THEN A Kn6500 -- followed shortly after by a Kn7000.

My opinion is that a replacement was needed for the Kn6000. Buy a Kn6500, if dollars are a consideration; if not – Roger is right, go for the Kn7000 “TOP of THE LINE”.

I have had the KN800, the KN3000, the KN6000, the KN7000, and the KN2600.
I have never had a problem with any of them. I still have the KN800 and the KN2600 and they still work great. I sold the others when Technics pulled the plug on manufacturing any more. I don't like orphans.
I have had many other keyboards also and the only ones that had problems and had to go back to the factory were the Ensoniqs.

I have had KN1600, KN3000, Kn5000 and now Kn7000 for about 8 years. No problems with any of them. If current KN7000 happens to fail in future I, for sure, will go for a second hand KN7000!

I also had a problem KN6000 which was quickly replaced with a KN6500 (no problem at all), however I did trade it in when the KN7000 was released and have never regretted it. For me, it is still the "King of the keyboards"

MM ... my original and only kn-6000 is still my main KB ... however, if I had to get a replacement, I would definitely look for a kn-7000 ...
Best of luck,
