"Just received a flyer from my local keyboard shop.

Tyros 2002-2012 "The Legend Evolves"
Be one of the first to see and hear something very, very special!!!

Unfortunately, due to a Yamaha media ban we're unable to release the exact details of this NEW product until 21 March 2012

But as a highly valued customer, we wanted to make sure you are one of the first to get this exciting news.

The Flyer continues on with info on how to register your interest in the product at the keyboard shop. "

OK Folks have a guess at what is coming. Yamaha hype, or something we really, really want!

Deane

Its been 18 months and T4 has run out of steam. Most of the T4 owners I know just view each new version as a very expensive upgrade and a way to dispose of their savings, the rest have jumped ship because its a bit of an insult to be sold the best instrument mankind has ever dreamed of only to find its obselete and worth half the price within a year.

maybe its a nice Special Edition black metal T4 with 76 note keyboard and propper buttons instead of Tooty Fruities (google it)

Thanks Deane and Eric...I haven't been told anything about what's up and coming.

I feel very fortunate to have been able to procure a Tyros4...it's the first TOTL arranger I have owned since the PSR-8000, although I have been able to fully test drive (and demo) all of Yamaha's incredible arranger line, the T4 is the one that appeals to me the most, and it meets or exceeds my needs with regards to a pro instrument.

I still get a natch when I use the SA/SA2 voices, and I have my Tyros4 customized with my own styles, registrations, and samples (the latter being accessible thanks to my good friend Tony Hughes who sent me a 1 gig expansion board as a gift!).

Only one thing I like as much as my Tyros4, and that is a good surprise...I'm looking forward to the announcement.

Maby they finally put some decent drum sounds in the Tyros and lower the ridiculous price of this spaceship.

As long as it doesn't sound like a Korg or Roland, I'll be very pleased! wink

Variety is good...we all have different ideas and expectations of what comes out of our speakers...having a choice benefits all.

Don't worry Ian Yamaha doesn't have the knowledge to sound like a Roland or Korg sofa

Worry? Frans, you should know by now I'm not a worrier. Definitely a wasted emotion.

Thankfully Yamaha has it's own "sound", and I, like many others, are glad they have stuck to their proven formula. I bought the Tyros4 because I love the sound, and to me, that's most important in a keyboard.

I don't feel one brand is "better" than the other...just "different".

If it meets your needs, then it is "the best" for you.

The Tyros4 meets, and even exceeds, my needs as a professional player, so, to me, it is "the best".

This has nothing to do with keyboards, but I once saw a sign on a marquis that read, "Worrying is paying interest on a debt that may never come due." Ian your right on with your comment.
