I've used the VLD3 for the past year. It's velcro'd to my PA500. It sounds nice. And I picked it up on ebay for $99.

The controls are easy to reach (except for the output volume on the back). The optional 3 switch foot pedal is helpful. I use the doubler with reverb while singing, and add in harmony parts as needed. The indicator lights make it easy to see what the settings are.

Prior to this unit, I used a Helicon Harmony M for a year, and a Digitech Vocalist Performer since 2001.

Guitar Center has a used one for $149 http://tinyurl.com/7myrune

There are several demos online, such as http://tinyurl.com/6m2eodb

Just google "digitech vld3" and filter the results for videos.

I got rid of the TC Helicon because my lead singer/guitar player/wife did not care for the tone it gave my voice.

The Vocalist Performer didn't have a MIDI input, and the harmony often didn't sound right.

The VLD3 really blows folks away on songs like "Long Time Gone" and "For What It's Worth". Most of all, my wife likes the pitch correction feature

And thanks for listening to our demos. I retired 3 months ago, and finally have time to give music the time it deserves.

My first rock band in 1964 was "The Swift Studs". it was a good name for South Chicago, but was not popular with our parents.

Donny,
I tested that digi unit out and hated it. You'd be better off with the newer breed of vocalists ... Even the simple ones like the harmony m.
