Tony, return the Tascam DR-07MKII and instead,
while away your hours with this vintage Phillips Reel to Reel (20+ lbs) grin
I know you owned one of these way back when. rocker

The whole idea is that it is a PORTABLE recorder, light-weight, battery operated. Easy to transport and record things on the fly.
For recording at home there are certainly better options.

Hey Scott

I just went thru this entire thread and it looks like no one ever completely answered your question about recording times. For WAV files, figure about 3 track-hours per gigabyte. That's one track (mono) for 3 hours, or 2 tracks (stereo) for 1.5 hours, or 3 tracks for 1 hour, or 4 tracks for .75 hours, etc. So a 32 Gb card should give you 96 hours of mono or 48 hours of stereo, or 24 hours of 4 track or 12 hours of 8 track, etc. Whatever, it's a lot.

The above times are for a sample depth of 16 bits at 44.1 khZ.

Regards,

Ted

Hi Ted, thanks for taking the time to run thru all those Number calculations. smile
Don't know if you saw this or not, but I eventually found and posted (see attachment earlier in the thread and of which I've reposted again below) page 74 of the DR-07MKii owners manual which states that 2 tracks ( stereo) , @ 16 bits - 44.1 1khZ, provides 1.41 hours of record time.
I agree that a 32Gb is way overkill for my audio recording needs.
I've now ordered a 16gb microSD card instead. I also went ahead and ordered the Tascam brand AC to USB adapter for $20 from B & H Photo and Video. The microSD and it are scheduled to arrive here by the end of the week. -Scott cool
