I,ve goota say firstly, I don't think there is an arranager out there that matches the Audya in live sound drums bass and loops.

But here comes the clincher. I like many, came on board early expecting Audya to be an on going work from Ketron not AJ. Although I appreciate the effort and upgrade offers he has, it's still apparent to me the 42.b had, and has some serious issues, (bugs). Where are the fixes? a scan of the Ketron forum will give you reasons to believe they should be sitting up and taking notice. Things such as "Freezing ("my prob currently") those timing issues, and about in all 7 that should have been resolved by now. I spent $5,500 AU dollars on this board, can't trust it on a job.

I like all of us need answers in a format that says, the technicians at Ketron have identified these issues ("and they will know exactly what they are, because I'm sure they would have been fixing them all the way along") and this is what is required to correct them, in plain and simple language that can't be confused.

I won't be selling the Audya 76, for the reason I gave above, but also, it's de valued equity caused by the associated problems along the way mean that to sell is to loose a lot of money, ("won't be comming back for another Ketron") but I'll hang on to it in the eternal hope that Ketron start doing what they set out to do and get it right.

Honestly, if it was a car or building, they would have been out of buisness and probably both in jail for providing a product that does not do what it was meant to do ("read the promo specs and so on, and various warranty and lemon conditions world wide")

So I ask one final time for someone from Ketron to fess up, and get this show back on the road.

what were the results of your checksum test? If you have a corrupt file freezing is one of the symptoms.

If you had contacted your distributor this is the first thing they would have advised you to do and then ask you to send the information along with your serial number. Its standard practice.

Tone,

deep in my soul I respect your will to help coustomers, but on the name of Good, what is this? What kinde of cheksum? What kinde of deal is this?
Only fact what I can see is that kayboard must work from begining with little update and that is the end of that story.
I am allso in position where I dont trust on that kayboard and dont play it in public. With all costs and update i play with my old Tyros...what that mean to you and what that mean to Ketron. My Audya goes for the third time back to Italy to repair troubles with Midi USB port and sound card changing and I am not really shure if Ketroners reall inpruve all that bad parts in kayboard cos my varanty is pased away.Bad thing is cos kayboard dont work from begining...

Hi Tonewheeldude. I should have posted that I researched the forums with a magnifying glass for all of the issues, and yes I ran the checksum and apart from the 2 which is a faulty part of the programm that Ketron know about, all is good.

The problem as stated before is I can play for 5 minutes, 1 hr ,4 hrs and then all of a sudden rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr freeze and the only thing that gets it going again is a restart. Hence dont use it on live jobs disappoints me greatly as its fantastic sounding.

I think there should have either been a recall on the hard drives or the sound card or both from Ketron, but something here smells of cover up. I hope not, but I am so dissapointed I'll never venture Ketrons way again unless they stand up be counted on the problems and publish what technicians have found in the investigations of faults.

Hello again fellow Audya owners,

I feel I must agree after joining this forum and reading about the many problems so many have had with their Audya's.

It is obvious Ketron has Hardware and Software issue's that they either can't resolve or won't resolve or are still trying to resolve.

I continue to have channel output problems that require 2 or 3 reboots to correct. Either the Left channel is missing or sometimes NO sound at all . It has been an inconvenience , but thankfully it finally boots correctly and performs flawlessly.

I'm sure I've given my board more of a work out than any of you, I'm playing 6 and 7 nights a week and practicing during the day. It always come's through for me.

I have to give Ketron credit for developing a product which incorporates the use of "LIVE , REAL AUDIO ". This obviously is a tricky technology and NO OTHER manufacturer has ventured into it.

For me, it's ALL ABOUT the " SOUND "! Three years later, I am still THRILLED with performing on the Audya. I recently sold my Tyros3 because it just couldn't compete !

My Audya has made me a lot of money, expanded my popularity and demand, inspired my musical creativity and has taken me to a musical level NEVER before achieved with any arranger or combination of Keyboards in over 40 years on stage.

Hundreds of people have felt compelled to approach me and compliment me on the SOUND and the Music they are hearing. That alone is worth EVERYTHING to me as a musician!

Yes, I agree there are problems with Ketron and the Audya! HOWEVER...............................

When I eventually play this keyboard to the end of it's life, I will turn around and buy another one just like it.

Until another manufacturer designs an Arranger that sounds like the Audya, I'm sticking with Ketron!

Through THICK & THIN, GOOD & BAD, REBOOT after REBOOT!

Jim

Hi Robbo,

I bought my Auday5 in October 2010 and had only ONE PROBLEM : A Style was stuck, sounded like a machine gun.

But I caused this error by my own : I did not press the "unplug usb-device" button from windows, so I got a corrupted filesystem on audya-hd.

I fixed it via scandisk, but Ketron had to send me an "undamaged file". They did it via email, and now, for more than 12 month I had NO PROBLEMS, neither before the upgrade to 4.2B nor thereafter.

My "A5" sometimes runs 10 minutes, sometimes 10 hrs, but never a bug ! No output problems.

I donīt use the midi-connection very often, but whe I do it works.

A few styles have a little timing problem, but that can be identified only by musicians I think.

I would buy it again if I had to decide to buy a Tyros4 or an Audya !

I must admit, that Iīm using the Audya5 only as a "home-player" only, but after almost 40 years playing accordion / organ I think that I can judge the capabilities of this instrument.

NiteLife,

Have you had your dealer take a look at your unit? Did you ever get the sound card checked/replaced?

Contact me offline at ketron_tech@yahoo.com - I might be able to help.

Thanks,

AJ

Hi Nitelife, I did in my preamble say re the Audya, its the best re sound and live performance no quarms there. You say putting up with the problem and not calling the manufacturer to task is the answer. I'm sure I and many others disagree. My audiences would not tollerate more than one shutdown during performances, it's a tough market, and the Audya makes it useless re live gigs for me. There is another post here which states that Ketron techs gave information to owner to rectify a file (coruption). Whether or not it's a user fault or a manufacturer fault this should have been diseminated via e-mails to owners, same as any other product update or recall, to correct issues.

I did also say that the plague of problems besetting the board have devalued it immensely. I know you are making great living with it, wish I was you, but considering that the Audya is virtually worth less than half it's real value until it's fixed in the consumers eye's I believe whilst you may return to the buying table with them, many others will not.

Ketron have a real problem with understanding the public as a client that needs to be respected. Thier marketing and public relations are deplorable. Just one instance. The manual! dowloaded the manual from the Ketron site, thinking that because the illistrations in the manual are almost unreadable (blury), the PDF will fix the problem and allow me to print, diagramms with clarity. Think again, not only are the diagramms, pictures of the board and so on just as fuzzy, you cant even, say take a clip of an illistrated diagram of the buttons on keyboard, to place it in a programe ie, paint, word, Illistrator, and so on, and print it out, for a better reference, particulary if you have a stack of two keyboards with Audya on the bottom, and can't see the button assembly clearly.

So I hope that some real reaching out from Ketron will happen here. They need as stated before to state clearly, these are the problems we have fixed, and how we fixed them since the board was released. Then and only then would I return to thier buying table.

I have posted this another message for el shay also read on;

Hi, well after much research and countless hours of testing plugging and unplugging devices, I think I have finally worked out what is wrong with Audya when it freezes. It runs out of poliphany! Thats it. Sustain pedal in, Freeze, sustain pedal out, no freeze!.. Now what to do next. I need someone from Ketron or close to them, to tell me why the program OS goes into stack overflow which causes the freeze and enevitable switch off to restart. Is there a missing file? or is it a corrupted file? or does this require a new update to fix so that I can continue to use the pedal, or is it the pedal that is the problem?

Thanks so much for any help, I really do love the Audya and looks like its back in my better book now.

Robbo, honestly, this is not a Ketron support forum and whilst its fine to air your grievances, if you have a problem you realy do need to put the effort into chasing your distributor, after all they took your money to support you.

I know for a fact that if we have a problem similar yours at Ketron UK (and in all honestly it does happen from time to time) Ketron Italy work with us to resolve the problem. We can talk to them by phone and email. Some issues take a little longer if they are more challenging, but we have always been able to work them out.

I don't know about your particular problem (first I have heard of it) - but the factory do need to know so they can help, so please do contact your distributor.

Send your serial number and the checksum and alltabs test results as the factory are only going to ask for that information anyway.

Hi TWD,,, really it's not so much an angry rant, but more of a want to have a list of ways to correct an error, and then if all else fails contact the distributor. In my case Im in Melbourne the Seller/Distributor in Sydney 800 miles away!. I'm sure you can appreciate the dilemma in sending or loosing a board when the problem happens intermitantly, and takes hands on for hours (no warranty now) sometimes to reproduce or locate an error.

In my case the sustain pedal, I understand you have a flawless Audya, why is this when others have not?? and it does seem to be random faults with no real pattern or logic in the problems being experienced. More like a OS corruption, than a hardware problem.

Well I am happy now, I'll try a different pedal to eliminate the faulty pedal cause, and then after that if its the same will contact distributor/ketron italy

Thanks mate, dont get me wrong I only want whats best for all
