STYLWORKS XT

I was wondering what you thought of it vs the older "UNIVERSAL" series?

I have Universal XT but never had the prior to compare. I know Rikki has though.

Hi Donny,
yes , I do have it.

Basic difference is, there are now some basic editing tools. Which is handy.
You can import & export individual tracks. So basically you could set up a bit of a database of phrases.
It does the newer keyboards.
Whether or not it does a better job of the conversion than the earlier version, hard to say.

EMC definately does a better job of some style catergories than others.
Unfortunately some of the types of styles I use it doesn't do a brilliant job.

So I really don't use it a great deal.

Having said that, I still wouldn't be without it.
I've had it for the last 20 years, and it's been a bit of a security blanket for when I used to swap me keyboard brands every other year.

Where possible I convert manually from a midifile of the style
ie I use OMB & varranger to create my midifile of psr/ketron style, then I edit it to suit my korg.

I only use emc for technics or roland style as I don't have access to either keyboard.

Hi Donny,
ok, if it works well for the type of styles you normally use

newest keyboards that it now converts From
Korg - PA3x
Ketron - Audya
Roland - BK7m
Yamaha - Tyros 4

Plus it still does the Technics Kawai Gem & Wersi's
plus the previous models for Korg Ketron Roland & Yamaha's

In short pretty much everything is covered. There's even an OPTIONAL Band in a Box convertor.

Song to Style Convertor

The Style Editors
Copy Tracks
Swap Tracks
Event List Edit
Load & Save Individual Tracks

Logical Editor
Lets you do certain editing functions in Bulk? rather than doing each track individually ie deleting notes, transposing, changing velocities etc etc

Last but not least
Import/Export of midifile as a style to a pc sequencer.

As I said, haven't spent much time with it, so not sure how bug free it is.
Did have a bit of trouble trying to convert a particular Roland style to PA3X, did work as a pa800 eventually.

I can load one of my early PA800 ( pre guitar mode ) banks in & try converting it to PA80/60?? no editing , just as is to give you a rough idea of what you might expect in the way of tweaking required.

What Genre of Style would you like. (send me an email of where to send)

With regards to conversion from Ketron AUDYA, you would be missing the AUDIO Drums, Bass and Guitar parts (especially those added by the AJAMSONIC and/or OS 4.2 USB pen drive).

AJ...where can I listen to demos comparisons to the factory vs the Ajamsonic upgrades? or do I have to come to the lab?

Hi Bernie,
there's actually updates every no & again.
I have a link that I use, could have been from my initial order?

Get in touch with Klaus & if he sends you a link, don't lose it because I think it will be the same one for your future updates.

Hi AJ,
got me beat to how it could possibly convert Audio parts. Never tried it. But it's part of the list.
