Does anyone know for certain whether the XD3 takes a battery?
A friend has a serious problem with his module losing memory when he turns it off. This is the only thing I can think of other than hard drive going out.
Thanks,
DonM

I'm told by AJ, and Ketron Italy that there is no battery. Must be something else.
Thanks,

It uses non-volatile memory so no battery.

What exactly is not saving? This makes a difference to the solution.

If Midi and other operational settings are not saving...does he realise he must make a "Power On Setup"?

If the problems are related to Flash memory issues then he should download the latest operating system from www.ketron.it

The Hard Drive is not required for this series of instruments to operate - its only for storing stuff that you may wish to load like back up patterns, midi files, sampled sounds etc.

Thanks TWD. I did reload the OS for him. However, it is no longer my problem, or his, because he sold the unit to a neighbor who will only use it for midi playback. Actually he probably won't use it at all!
Thanks for your help!
