After demoing the thing at the store everyday it Took me a few months to realize its a whole lot better than the T3 so I decided to sell my tyros 3 on Ebay with the Speakers for $2400 which was a quick deal. Called Yamaha and got the employee deal on the T4.

Much better than the T3. Especially drums and the new Harmonizer. The voices are great although somewhat gimmicky. The Speakers TRMS4 is far more powerful as well.

I have been selling more T4s in a few months than all year with the T3. Probably because we can give away the Speakers and Stand free being a Clavinova dealer. The only complaint is why have an XLR mike input without Phantom Power? Its not like we will run 100 feet of mike.

Did TapTAp Bar game on the iPhone in a couple hours on it. Not bad for $500 job. LOL Been getting a lot of contract work because the thing can delivers a CD like quality with great samples. Hard to tell its a plastic keyboard making all that noise. Saves clients a ton of money as well. Like I tell my customers....Give it a nickel and it pays back a dollar.

I sincerely believe that in the next few months you'll be utterly amazed by what you create with the T4.

Good Luck,

Thanks..
I am already amazed. LOL. I see my Motif XS8 getting some rest. The new Harmony section is much better. (although no 48V on the mike input is a travesty LOL Not sure I am going to go for the Extra memory. But at 10% under dealer cost i guess I should.

I have a couple sold so I need to bone up on the new additions to support the customers. I have to ask Yamaha or find a T4 forum on how to play the harmony voices using the key bed or the toon tracks songs because it's different than theT# in that regard.

I have to say the more I work with it the farther it passes the T3. The advantage is not immediate (with the exceptions of the voices) but shows up in small doses as time goes by. The soiund engine seems to be better. (Like the XF8)

I totally agree. More than several people have asked me, "Why the Tyros4 instead of the Tyros3?"

Having used both extensively, the sum of the positive differences increases the more you play the Tyros4...for me, buying the latter was money very well spent.

Congratulations on your new arranger.

Could not agree more. I held off for months until I had ample opportunity to learn it well in the store. That along with the phenomenal direct buy deal Yamaha extends to employees of dealers made the decision for me. I may do the same with the Motif XS8. Still looking at that. We don;t carry the Motif as a rule though because I spend hours demoing then the internet gets the sale. Our 9% sales tax is too much and the margins too thin. The market for the Arrangers are older have a few more dollars and far less likely Internet buyers because I offer a lot of incentives freebies and free operation lessons. (and a great price on the T4 with speakers and stand.) I don't work for commission. I get paid for knowledge rather than sales. I prefer it that way and there is no personal pressure to up sell or make maximum margins. Just move product. Hit a lot of singles rather than a few homeruns.
