It's a pretty cheap toy if nothing else. I assume that since it has midi in and out, that a midi controller could be used if the small keys are a problem. I couldn't find any detailed midi data in the specs.

This new Korg MicroArranger looks very appealing to me:

1) Ultra Compact & Super lightweight, and includes speakers to boot
2) Gain some classic Korg sounds at a budget price
3) Ability to midi it to a controller keyboard, including my T4.

The trade-off of having to deal with small mini-keys is gaining an ultra lightweight (.5kg or a mere 11.02lbs)
and shorter overall KB length (87cm or 34.25 inches)
enabling greater ease to take it on the fly for those casual house parties and KB playing fun on the go.
At a mere 11 lbs. the Korg MicroArranger is only a 1/3 the weight of my already relatively lightweight Tyros 4,
so I'd expect could be easily carried under one arm. smile

For that reason, I'm excited to get my hands on and try out this keyboard.

QUESTION: Does the Korg MicroArranger's chord recognition table include
'rootless' chords like the PA3X has, and which was later added in an OS update on the PA2x?
Assuming the Korg MicroArranger's OS is software update-able,
if it doesn't already recognize rootless chords,
I'd expect that it could be easily implemented in an OS update.

Scott cool

I'm very interested as well. It would be great for my travels. My Tyros 2 and case is a bit bulky for air travel. I just hope I can adjust to the little tiny keys.

You ‘ll have the following pros.

1.10 lbs pro arranger KB with speakers and aux input (buy your 199$ TC harmonizer and hook it up)
2. Actual midi ports and L/R out, sustain and assignable ins
3. Plays SMFs or Modified SMFs with internal sounds directly from SD with no load time
4. Good synth engine/sounds and tons of editing (will load Triton programs)/Actual sequencer with true edit
5. Can rewrite all factory styles (4 variations each more than 300) and user area (can load 48 I believe), but you have SD drive –so no major issues
6. No sticking USB drives
7. arranger module with 5 octave keys (I know the size) with 4 WAY JOY STICK ( try that with PSR s 650) ( did I mention speakers and 10 lbs only?) meaning you can create , edit songs anywhere without a computer or space issues.

Cons will be

1. 2 fills and some issues with fills (same old PA 80 BOARD)
2. Muti-pads won’t play loops (no OS update can’t do it either)
3. Styles somewhat busy and over orchestrated compared to mid Yammies ( PSR S series)
4. Small keys ( I would still take the keys than no keys at all)

The same functions /sound board as PA50SD , so you can check the manual.

I'm definitely interested. I often have to make mp3 for my cantors and I hate having to unbag my s910 for a ten minute session. This I could do on the kitchen table with my Zoom H2. Also, I'm thinking I could use it in conjunction with my Hammond XK-1. I have little reason to use my XK lately and maybe now I could use these two together for my NH jobs. Lastly, the total portability and compact size are too tantalizing to pass up. I've played the MicroWorkstation and the keys are not a problem. I could carry this under my arm and take it on vacation wherever I go. I'm excited to see and play it...
