Has anyone tried recording midi to Sonar on PC or Logic on Mac ?
When I tried connecting the USB from Audya to PC with midi enabled, the PC recognised it as an Audya but failed to load a driver. I suppose I could use the midi ports but I would have thought there would be a usb driver available.

Hi Bobby,

which PC operatingsystem do you use ?

I had no problems with win7 ( 32 and 64 bit ) neither on pc nor on notebook.

But I donīt use sonar, I use the "midiland optimizer", "Yamaha XG-Works" and some other tools wink. But as it looks your problem is the missing driver. If that is solved itīs quite unimportant which software you use.

Thanks Snoopy.
I am using windows xp because I have found it generally the most problem-free for most things musical.
I have just hooked the Audya up to logic pro 9 on the mac and it recognises it OK. Now I am back to the manual to find out how to set the damn thing up. I imagine I will need to make up a template based on the Audya TX midi channel numbers. Not my forte but I will have a go.
Any help, anyone please ?

BobbyP,
i haw the same problem in the near past.First you must to know a caple of special Ketron things:
-If you run XP or win 7 OS always when you conect your Audya with USB cable, driver load automaticaly from Audya. So you dont nead specialy USB driver to conect.
-on Audya select USB to ON posicion
-in Sonar go to Option then chouce Midi device.Select Audya midi IN and Audya midi OUT.
With this setings must work perfectly.
Good lack and let me know if I helping you.

Still not working Dusan.
On win xp I connect the Audya and the pc recognises it. On the Audya screen it tells me USB is connecected. Next I choose safely remove hardware in order to access the Audya screen. Then to Audya menu-midi settings-usb connect.
I then open sonar -midi-options and only my soundcard is displayed. No Ketron !
Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe youīre doing something wrong, this is they way it works with my equipment :

- Ensure that thereīs NO USB-connection between Audya and PC !!!
- switch on PC
- switch on the Audya and wait until itīs ready
- Set "USB-MIDI" to "ON"
- Now connect the Audya via USB to your PC
- The PC should detect a new "USB-Device"
- In your sequencers MIDI-Settings you should now find a "KETRON AUDYA KEYBOARD".

If you want to finish FIRST UNPLUG the USB-connection between PC and Audya and THEN set USB-Mode to "OFF" again.

ONLY IN THIS CASE the "remove hardware" from Win is not necessary, because the PC has no access to the Audyas harddisk.

In case you set "USB-MIDI" to "OFF" while PC and Audya are still connected the Audya will switch to "USB-HD-connection" ( "USB-Connected" displayed in the Audya ) but it will not be recognized by the PC and youīre not able to disconnect it via "remove hardware" !
So data-loss and file-corruption may occur on Audyas harddisk !

I tried it they way you did ( first the "normal" USB-Connection ) that didnīt work !

Thanks again Snoopy. Still looking for a driver. I followed your instructions to the letter and the computer recognised a Ketron keyboard but brings up the found new hardware wizard.
Round in circles again !

Problem Solved.
I plugged the audya into my win 7 laptop and it came up right away so the problem lies with my desktop xp . I think it's more bother than it's worth to reinstall windows and then have dozens of programmes to reload, it would take forever. I will use midi leads if need be.

Thanks for your help gents
