Wondering whether anyone has used StyleWorks 2000 conversion software successfully for T4 to Audya styles - any advice greatly appreciated!
Never done it - how do I import converted styles to Audya? Carl

Hi Carl
I have used EMC Styleworks 2000 to convert a few Roland and Technics files to Ketron SD1(it doesn't have Audya) and into my Audya. Usually fairly accurate, but sometimes a wrong instrument is assigned. However, the results are never going to be as good as an authentic Audya style.

To put a converted style into Audya, you load the converted .pat style into User Styles. I usually audition the style in a pen drive and copy over if I like it.

Hi Bernie
Many thanks for your reply - I had a bad experience 2 years ago when I first got my Audya 76, my hard drive had to be re-built after crashing. Later I had many 'total sound crashes' which was fixed with a replacement sound board - now all is fine. You'll understand my reluctance doing anything on the hard drive but I really like so many of the T4 styles you can hear on YouTube - so, with all this waiting for Ketron and AJ I wondered about possible style conversions. If I'm likely to experience problems or glitches with EMC Styleworks 2000, then maybe I'll just have to stay patient and hope the forthcoming updates/upgrades plug the gaps for me. Cheers, Carl

Hi Everyone, As many of you know, I have both the Audya and Tyros 3 and play professionally.

I find myself now taking only the Audya to play my gigs.

We all love Yamaha's styles but the " Live Sound " just isn't there.

What I did was, record several of my favorite Tyros styles I use with certain songs, converted them to MP3's, loaded them into the Audya and play along with them. Works perfect!

It's better than hauling and setting up two keyboards when I only use the Tyros on about 10 songs.

In fact I'll be listing my Tyros3 on ebay before to long. I just don't use it enough!

Ya just can't beat the Audya!

Jim

Thanks for your input Jim - that's an interesting solution. I just find the T4 styles really lush and laid-back and would have liked them onboard my Audya for backing tracks for my guitars.

Bernie - you mentioned auditioning .pat files off a pen drive and then copy over the ones you like. I now have a few converted .pat files to try on a pen drive, could I ask you a huge favour: what key strokes do you use to audition each style on the pen drive??
What key strokes to copy over to User Styles on Audya??
Sorry to be a pain but don't want to screw up!!! Carl

Bernie - I just worked out how to audition the .pat styles on my pen drive, works well. If I could bother you with the copying over to User Styles key strokes, that would be GREAT. Carl

Bernie - it turned out a waste of time, the .pat styles don't play at all right on my Audya so I'll leave it there.
Come on Ketron and AJ - only 10 days left in June, WHEN is it going to happen?????????? Carl

Sorry it didn't turn out. Roland and Technics styles seem to work better it seems.

Jim
I am a little confused about how you can play over an MP3 recording of a style, unless you mean recording the entire song with all of the chord changes.

I would like to hear more.

Hey Bernie:

Yes, all I did was record the song with chord changes, intro and ending. I think yamaha has some really great styles and I just recorded my favorites and play along with them.

In addition, I have a dozen or so favorite Sound Choice Karaoke files I use.

With the upcoming 50 additional styles from Ketron, we'll stay plenty busy I'm sure.

If the UPGRADE ever gets here!!

Jim
