Ok Nidem now that’s out of the way, tells us the whole story, it is highly unlikely that one of us will buy one, but why is it on the dog shelve. BTW , I have been sat here waiting for this since you got the MS, now at least I can get some sleep. sleep

Regards

Tony

Forgot to tell you my Audya is in the same place as your MS.

Nedim, ok, your MS is on the floor leaning against the wall.
The pic alone doesn't really explain why. Is it broken, are you dis-satisfied with its sound, or simply bored?
Perhaps in 1,000 words you can fill us in on the details.
Also, how does the Media Station compare with the Groove X6,
of which I just posted what I thought a pretty decent sounding video demo.
Thanks. smile

Probably because the Mediastation is not the keyboard the Kronos is. No need for VST's any longer with the Kronos on the stand!

Hi all...ok, i gotta bring this back up again, its not fair to say something without
any explanation, its an unhealthy debate and not fair to the develloper:
1. Space, there is not enough space to put it on a stand which goes into reason 2.
2. Usability, the machine has the BIGGEST potential but that requires a lot of Sweat.
3. Thats why it is on the floor since i cant afford to take down the M3 or the Kronos
which also goes to reason 4...KBKR...yes, no need for VST when Kronos is there.

Now, lets be real, this machine has potential but...not the potential a mainstream
Keyboard has, in this case the Kronos. It is not a PlugAndPlay machine, it is a
SMOKEYOURSELFOUT and Play machine. It needs a lot of work. I honestly didnt put a
lot of effort in it to explore it completely since i am very busy doing other more
productive things but i will get back to it. This machine is not for the everyday
MortalUser, it is more for people like me, with a lot of time, knowledge and programming.
The Mortal User will be dissapointed right away and probably throw it away.
There is no need to explain how it sounds, it will Sound exactly as you will make
it Sound, since it is not like any other keyboard, it cant be compared to anything.
Comparing it to any of the Keyboards wont be a fair comparison cuz in some hands it
will destroy any existing keyboard and in some hands it will be destroyed.
Its arranger features are still premature and way behind anything on the market.

I cant compare it to the GrooveXR yet, my GXR is comming by the end of September,
the first batch of products...i expect a lot more from it then the MediaStation.

Nedim,

The real question for use all is where will your MS be in a years time, where it is now, and Nedim you make it sound like a great piece of kit I musn't say, do you class yourself has a everyday mortal user. Anyone reading this wouldn't go near one.

Good Luck with it, perhaps you will be as old as your avatar when you have mastered it.

Regards

Tony

Lol...Tony, for me there is no need to master it, i already have mastered it even before having one.
The point is, for me personally there is no learning curve on this, it is exactly as my computer and
DAW which i have been using for 12 years...all i have to do is transfer the material from my PC to the
MS and that would be it, no need to learn but thats what i hate...i like challenges.

Nedim...you already mastered the MS before you got it... rotfl

Please make a performance...make a combination patch (8 parts) with splits and layers, using VST's..Link it to a Standard Midi File, editing with one of the programs shipped with the MS (Rose garden will do)....Set up midi so you can select 8 midi parts from your Kronos....Now record using the wave recorder on board..a 3 minute tune....Please post the results here...let's say ..30 minutes (project time)...Most average MS owners can do this... smile...Heck let's give you an hour grin

Seriously No one mastered the MS via PC experience alone...There is a learning curve..and one would mislead folks to say otherwise.....The MS is so feature laden..with it's MS interface, and capabilities...I will repeat..No one I know had mastered it..especially sight unseen....vitually impossible smile

Hi All,

Someone one once said " the more I see of my friends the more I love my dog" The more I hear about the MS the more I am confused, I think I will just stay that way.

Fran, you are right, noone can master something without having it.
The only learning experience for me is the Routing, even the Sampler
and other parts of it are nothing new to me. The only difference is
the OS and Routing...i can easily install Komplete 7 in it and some
Mastering FX and start from there but even that would require a lot
of work...as far as the Arranger i think it needs a lot of work.
I will try to do something, right now i am expecting my Groove XR
to arrive somewhere in late September.

The Lionstracs OS in itself bears no real relation to working with a PC Desktop, so it's odd that you would try to use the Desktop to control the keyboard.

I rarely if ever access the desktop when I'm using my MS. I have everything running from within the Lionstracs OS so it operates just like a normal workstation.

Regards
James.
