Hi
Hopefully we'll get them round the same time.
Australia actually got the Ketron SD2's before the USA did last year.

Looking forward to seeing one..

best wishes
Rikki

..... and if we're lucky, we'll see the Audya during 2010 here in Norway?
And then of course for twice the price as the rest of the world can buy it....

Happy Playing

AJ may I ask a question?

Can you tell me if all this wonderful Audio based Drums/Bass/everything kind of "sample based Arranger Styles system" of the Audya will end up sounding "limited" in as much as there will only be a certain number of "Audio Styles".

At least midi gives us many, many Drum kits (for example) and flexible ways to use them (gating the sounds, fx for sounds etc) as opposed to the "straight audio playback" I suspect you will get with the Audya.

Is the Audya "painting itself into a corner" sounds/styles wise, or will it be a much more flexible system than I am envisioning????

(Hope I made myself clear, I usually don't! lol)

Hi Hellboy,
I think it's a mix of audio & midi.
The brochure might be of interest.

Some answers for you below:-

AJ may I ask a question?
Can you tell me if all this wonderful Audio based Drums/Bass/everything kind of "sample based Arranger Styles system" of the Audya will end up sounding "limited" in as much as there will only be a certain number of "Audio Styles".

>>>AJ: Explain exactly what you mean by 'limited'. Ofcourse there will be a fixed amount of AUDIO STYLES within production units, but we will offer a library of more which you can eventually add to your keyboard (just as we did with the Midi-ony based styles). This new style format ofcouse requires way more space than the previous ... which is where your USB jacks and thumb drives/storage devices will come in handy. I think two P4 chips should be strong enough to handle data management for this ... also to almost instantly load such files into RAM.

At least midi gives us many, many Drum kits (for example) and flexible ways to use them (gating the sounds, fx for sounds etc) as opposed to the "straight audio playback" I suspect you will get with the Audya.
>>>AJ: Ahhh, now this is where I can't tell you much at this time. However, let me say this - using our sync-wav technology, we are able to manipulate the audio tracks such that ... well, it's seemless. With the Grooves, you can do wonders with the drum tracks. Now as for editing the audio? Let's wait and see. You will still be given the oppertunity to replace the audio drums with Midi for even greater editing capabilities, but the end-results will be fantastic - just wait and see!

Is the Audya "painting itself into a corner" sounds/styles wise, or will it be a much more flexible system than I am envisioning????
>>>AJ: More flexible than you are envisioning. You will be able to LOAD your own (or our proprietory) sounds which you can either play-back or use with styles. With time-stretching and pitch-correction technology, you can also 'manipulate' the audio to suit YOUR needs, change tonalities ... etc.

(Hope I made myself clear, I usually don't! lol)

>>>AJ: I guess this time - you did!!
