Excellent stuff, Fran.

Art looks like he may have been having carpal tunnel problems (wrist bandage), although it sure didn't seem to affect his playing.

One of the masters, to be sure.

"You Stepped Out Of A Dream"..."All the things you are"!

Great old tunes. My friend Tony Lovello (Three Suns) plays both tunes.

GOOD STUFF!

Not so "taken" with ANY accordion, but that's just my preference.

One of the best players...EVER!

thanks Fran for putting that up. I really enjoyed it. I have always admired Art's work.
I am using a wrist brace that really works for me after trying several other solutions.
It has a splint on each side of the wrist and one under the wrist. It goes over the thumb and about half way up my forearm. I can play jazz again and the brace doesn't get in the way at all. It was only about 15.00 at Wal Mart. It looks like it will last forever as it is really well made.
Thanks again,
Bebop

Bebop, did you have carpal tunnel issues too?

I still play a bit, but I've never had any wrist problems...must be from a lot of playing?

Good stuff... always liked his music. He took an instrument out of the polka band and made some great music with it.

AVD has ALWAYS been one of my favorites ... I knew a guy in Staten Island NY who copied his style very well ... full block chords - excellent ... played every song in EVERY key ...

Three Sons another favorite ... the first band I ever had I called "The Twilighters" and "Twilight Time" was our 'theme song' because of The Three Sons version ...

Ahhh for the 'good ol' days' ... smile

Tony, Tony Lovello has a hearing problem now, but still directs several appearances every year. for a long time,he was the general manager of the Campbell House, a large, popular hotel I played for years.

He plays the AVD style, as well as all the old Three Sons material. It's something to watch!

One day I was playing some hard driving jazz and i got pain in my right wrist that hurt so bad I had to stop then and there. I bought this brace on a friends reccomendation as a stop gap measure until I could get to the doc. Once wearing the brace no more pain and never did go to the doc. I wore it for about 3 months and now play with it. Once in a while I get a twinge and know is it time to shut down for the day/night. It is then ok the next time.

Thanks Bill, for your explanation. I too was concerned about carpal tunnel...my wrists sometimes bothered me when I was playing the keyboards whilst standing...it seemed no matter how I adjusted the stand, it still happened. I decided that I would play only while sitting, and never had a problem since.

A friend of mine had to have wrist surgery due to carpal tunnel, and it actually made it worse, so there is an obvious risk involved.

Good to see you found a more "natural" solution.
