Thank you Scott you always manage to find this good things......for the Second part, you need to go to the You tube web page.....if you click on the left side of the "subscribe" on the top almost to the left corner, you can see more videos, and there are other videos among the second part of the Korg PA3X video.

I wish that would had been recorded (line direct from the keyboard),the audio recorded through the mic's Video camera is not so good, it does not make justice to the instruments sound quality.

I'm not sure either, John...I am rather concerned, however, that you did not say anything.........

I will say, I thought the performer looked like he was trying to climb into the PA3Xpro's display screen at several points during the presentation, and, I have seen and heard a lot of demonstrations, and this is certainly one of them.

You know, Impuls, I just realized that might be the problem, and my sincere apologies to the player, and to all reading and watching, for my remark above, if that is the case.

And yes, he plays very well indeed...he's the best demonstrator I've seen them use so far.

I noticed that also ....either this guy has terrible eye sight, or a possible handicap, or Korg and others need to make larger display screens on arranger KB's that could only be a BIG improvement that would help players in many ways. I'm still our to lunch on making an opinion on what I'm hearing with the PA3x vs the Pa2x for now..Scott thank you for the heads up video....hope to see more soon.

Yes, before I forget...

Thanks Scott, for finding these videos.

From our conversations, I understand you feel much like I do in regards to Korg, and that we both hope that the PA3Xpro is a success for them.

I'm still looking at these videos, and listening to the demos on the Korg site, and I'm much like Nigel; I haven't really formed an opinion yet...but, there's something missing with the instrument, and I can't quite say what it is yet.

Perhaps with more time, it will reveal itself.

In the meantime, it's great to have more demos to examine.

Thanks again,

Ian

Rod Pooley is well known in the UK and he has a very severe visual deficiency hence the peering at the buttons.

Thanks Col...I was thinking afterwards that the PA3Xpro's screen and button layout couldn't have been that bad.

Rod certainly has not let his visual impairment interfere with his skill as an arranger player. Nice chops.

I agree this PA3X video presentation doesn't optimally showcase the Pa3x's sound quality, but neither do the Namm videos shot by my friend Tapas Das of Martin Harris demoing Tyros 4 either. Both were filmed in HD yet simply ultilize a similar quality built in camera mic to pickup what is heard thru the room's Pa system. In an attempt to present an "apples to apples" similarly recorded sound comparison between the PA3X and Tyros 4, and with both instruments demonstrated by equally competant pro arranger keyboardists, here's the Martin Harris one posted on my YouTube channel:

Come on.

You are all so polite, it was tosh, for a top of the range KB, the poor chap obviously had visual problems, the main object of the exercise was to listen to the real quality, is that what you heard, I didn't, these are missed opportunities. I think we need to just give in, go do the music shack when one comes in, having said that Telmo snippets are excellent. You know these people perhaps do think that someone is going to record their performances and stick them on SZ, if they saw the result they would perhaps cringe.

Yep, I didn't think it would be the screen. I've had an i30 and a Pa1X for a number of years. I wear bi-focals all the time and screen viewing has never been a problem for me. He's a tasty player, that lad.

I just listened to this (both demos) 3 times with my beyerdynamic DT 770MR phones. With the exception of a couple poorly chosen lead voices....I think the PA3 sounds superb, even without dircet audio recording on the demos.

There is much more to say...but I am still in a mode that is neutral to it.

Sweetwater just e-mailed me and said my PA3 demo unit will be in first or second week of May now.

It sure has a super live sound and IMHO rivals the Audya no sweat.
This is not IMHO, a PA2XPRO with a few tweaks...it has lots of potential. Quesion is how does it really sound live and...how good are the voices THAT I care about??

Lee, I agree the PA3Xpro may not potentially be a PA2Xpro with a few tweaks, but it seems a bit difficult to tell from what has been shown/heard on-line. I've listened to demos of both, and I'm still not quite convinced, although there are some great new voices and styles, to be sure.

I suppose the only way you will know for sure is to actually spend some quality time playing a PA3Xpro, and it looks like your wish will come true in May.

That is good news indeed.

I am looking forward to your impressions of the instrument.

Ian

My Korg Rep was here at my store Friday and brought me in some PA3X brochures. The time table for PA3X delivery here in the USA is end of May or beginning of June. I also had him clarify with his office in New York that both the 61 key and 76 key models are both semi-weighted because many of my potential customers were still under the impression that the 61 is synth action and only the 76 key is semi-weighted.

Thanks,

Ian,
There is only 1 and it is 20 minutes from my house!
Since it is a new product, and most orders are already sold, the only way I can get my hands on one is to reserve it to buy...then, I go there, they set it up with any sound system I want (well within reason)...I play it all day if I want.
At the end of the day...I can butyit, or they box it back up and put it back in stock.

This is exactly what Barty and I did with the T4 demo day we had there. He went on later to buy a T4 from them. I'm on the fence yet.
