This may sound a little crazy, but here it goes.

On May 25th 2009 North Korea launched a nuclear bomb into the earth. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnew...und-bunker.html

Ever since that test,we have seen major earthquakes throughout the world. The 1st one was in September of 2009 in indonesia.

Here is a related article. http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=2378

Could the nuclear test have shifted the earths core and start this chain reaction ?

I don't think you're crazy Dan wink but personally I don't think this had any influence. There were much heavier nuclear explosions in mother earth caused by usa and russia in the past and also in those periods there were no higher statistics on average.
The earth below us is moving and there's nothing we can do about it.

Greetings,
Fred
