About the 'no replies' of Ketron.
I tried to contact Ketron Italy by email but not one single sign of life.
VERY disappointing !

Ketron (Italy) is on vaccation for the rest of this month (August)... that could be why you're not getting any replies. When they get back, you should have a response.

Thanks,

AJ

This was my letter to Ketron :

Dear sir/mrs,

I own the SD1 since more than three years now and I'm pretty pleased with it.
The www.synthzone.com (Ketron) forum is the best place to exchange opinions, experiences etc. Many customers are members and are very much worried about the customer support. It looks like it completely stopped :

Complains about note-dropouts (polyphony problems) are, in a way, ignored by Ketron.
Some factory styles have no intro/ending.... others have faulty harmony. (eg Guajra)

About nine (!) months ago, mr. Sandro Fontanelli sent a bèta version of OS4.0c to some of the forummembers..... I was one of them.
The 'testers' reported results to mr. Sandro.
At least the polyphony problems are 90% solved and I'm more happy than guys who have 4.0b.
Mr. Sandro is not responding anymore and no news is available on product improvement or software releases. (OS4.0b was released in june 2003)

Please visit the forum (moderated by Prince AJ in the US) and read the comments about complaining members.

I have advised many friends NOT to purchase a Ketron because of Ketron not keeping promises and making unsatisfied customers.
Customers are switching to other brands that have better dealer-networks and more reliable products. If I were you I would do anything to prevent this.

kind regards,

Roel de Jonge

Roel,

About OS 4.0C, is there any new thing comparing to OS 4.0B, besides the polyphony problem?

Thanks

Luis,

As far as I know in the bèta release we got from mr. Sandro Fontanelli, only the max-polyphony per 'part' was changed.
As you know it did bring some improvement.
Realize we got the 4.0c about A YEAR (!) ago.
I hope, some day the official version will be released and all problems are solved.

As AJ wrote, most Italians were on holidays in August..... it is September now, so let's wait and see.

Ok

Let's wait and see then!

I must say that, even with some problems on the SD1 (I notice some pops sometimes from the Keyboard; some problems using the "harmony" function and some other problems) I'm very happy with the keyboard and I wouldn't trade it for no other. Tyros can be a good keyboard but I can't live with 61 keys... I'm a pianist!
So... SD1 still rocks! don't you think?

But I really agree some problems have to be fixed...

Thanks!

Luis Santos
