Hi people,
I am new to this forum, hmmm joined right now.
I have a yamaha psr 2100 Keyboard . Its fantastic in sound and good for stage performances too. But what i wanted to tell is, I have started experiencing problems with that. Sometimes a set of buttons dont work. They are, the Style change button A, the transpose key(decrease one), the tempo button(both) and the Quick record button. Sometimes it just corrects itself but then its always a risk right. And once one of the A to J button on the display went right inside when i pressed it. I took it to one service personell(not yamaha) and got it right. I have used it sparingly, well not too much i would say.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHATS HAPPENNING IN THERE. AM I TO GET SCARED AND START SEEING IT RIGHT AWAY.
I am from India. I would really appreciate some help.
Thanks all of you and great job running this site.

I would say you have a warranty problem if you are still under warranty. IF not you should take it to a Yamaha shop and have them look at it. It could be simple and in expensive or it could be deep and expensive. However the keyboard will no longer have any value when it quits working completely. The time to get it fixed is NOW
Best to you,
Bebop

Thanks Bebop,
You are right. I will get it checked now. The only thing is that we dont have proper service personel here, cause each one of them will have a different story to tell. These people can make a fool out of me and i already had one experience. Think i will take it to another guy who is a keyboard specialist. Thanks for your timely advice Bebop.

When you take it in ask them for a written firm price repair cost and state exactly what the problem is and what they are going to do to repair it.
This is standard business procedure.
Could you ship it to the Yamaha people for this repair so you don't get ripped off?

Hi BEBOP,
Thanks. I would do that. In fact i would have preferrd to take it to the yamaha guys here, had not been for that bad experience. I had a left speaker jarring problem with a PSR 260 and when i took it to the yam authorised showroom , they told me that i would have to replace an IC, which would take me three weeks to get it shipped from the US plus the cost to do that was something very high. But common sense made me take it to an ordinary electronic servise place where the good guy told me that it was a problem of dry connections. He cleaned it and soldered the connection again. Its been three years and it still works fine. That is why i dont wanna take it there . But i will do that procedure you told me to. My board is working fine now but dont know when it wil get screwed up again. I wil take it soon especialy when u said the time to take it is 'NOW'
Thanks again for your advice.
