"Playing with Styles" is in English,
done by a native speaker.

This is an excellent start to a better understanding of these wonderfull instruments. I hope that this is the begining of a series of DVDs that help users get the most from their existing gear. Well done !

i am very interested in this DVD.

I always play my Tyros 2 using the 'fingered' mode and i am very use to it.

using AI seems to have a more lively base line which is what i am looking for. but i need to learn how to implement this into my existing songs.

can this DVD show this??

Thanks
Nick

Hello Nick,

that is exactly, what the DVD is all about!
The main topic of the DVD is:
Playing the auto accompaniment using AI-FIngered and controlling the bass line.
The first examples shown on the DVD explain the basic techniques to play chord with bass notes other than the root or the notes given by the style data, like C-Maj with a third in the bass, C/E to start with.
Later on there are also more complex examples, like the "Air" from Bach, where the bass line moves as a real counter part to the melody.
Other examples show free walking bass lines and how to play them.
The really cool thing about AI-Fingered is, that all this can be done very conveniently and easily. All "normal" chords are played exactly the way you are used to.
Maybe you would like to have a look at the german video examples on the web site as well. The pictures and the music will illustrate the topics.
In addition, the musical scores of the melodies of the songs played on the DVD are available as free downloads.

Maybe I should also explain a little about the idea of this DVD:
When I learned about this AI-Fingered mode I got really excited about it - and still am. I discussed it with my friends and colleagues at Yamaha, other demonstrators and programmers, and I also showed this way of playing the auto accompaniment to many keyboad players in workshops and demonstrations.
The feedback was fantastic and there was a huge request for some guidance, for some more detailed information on how to do it.
About AI-Fingered, I did not find out everything myself and all alone. Martin Harris, a real master of AI-Fingered and a great musician also gave me a lot of inspiration. (Martin Harris is Yamaha´s global content manager).
Finally I suggested the idea to produce a video DVD to Thoralf Abgarjan, who is also a enthusiastic keyboard player - and a specialist for multi media. And then we made it, and there it is.

Thank you for your interest,
best wishes, best regards,

Reinhold
