Hi dani.
The only way of getting any G1000 drum kits into the T2 would be for you to actually sample each of the drum sounds and save them as WAV's. You would then have to load these individual WAV's into the T2's elements and map each drum sound to a different key. It would take a very long time and to be honest I don't see why anyone would want to go to this length when the T2's drum sounds are already far better than the G1000's, but that's only my opinion and I'm sure many people still appreciate the drum kits on the G1000, which were fantastic for their time and are still very useable today.
If you already have a T2 I'd recommend editing one of the internal drum kits you like and then saving it out as a custom kit. You can change loads of parameters and give the kit either more bite to it/life/ambience etc..
Remember the T2 is NOT a sampler, it only offers sample playback.

Dani, I am sorry I didn't get back to you.
T42 explained the process, and it is more work to sample on the Tyros2 than you will benefit..You would never capture the dynamics of the G1000 drums..

T42 there are really better drum kits on the G1000 that the Yamaha does not cover well...namely brush kits and the 808 kits..also the sound effects kits are way better on the Roland..

As you say , it is a matter of opinion..but check it out and see if I am right...Of course you will need access to a G1000..

I've not got access to a G1000 Fran and don't know anyone near me who has one of these golden oldies. I suppose Roland are better at some kits and Yamaha the others. Shame we can't have the best of both worlds in each instrument, although the T2 would load Roland drum samples where as a Roland arranger wouldn't load Yamaha.

Doesn.t matter Fran;btw ,i like a lot the drum set of G-1000(it is very used on balkanic@oriental styles);as u know,i need an arranger for instrumental music(Enigma,The art of Sound..etc),then some pop, rock, blues(any kb offers good styles) and balkanic-oriental styles(here Tyros2 it is not offer what i want).
For the moment i think that i will buy a G1000(I found one with a very good price for Europe);after 1-2 years i will buy one of the big3.,or maybe a Tyros3,or a PA2X..etc..hi hi
thanks for yours comments
greetings from Spain

I actually agree with one of Frans points. The SFX kit on the g1000 is better than tyros2...one sound in particular that comes to mind is the audience applause. Its weak on the tyros. On the g1000 not only do they clap better but hold the note down and they will start to cheer and eventually whistle. I wish the tyros2 had this sound

Hi there.
The SFX kit is very good on the G1000 I know the applause sound you mention very well. I also love the lightening and thunder sounds on the G1000, great for intro to Telstar.
There is a 18mb sound fx TVN custom file made by Yamaha for the T2 but I'm not sure without playing it again if an audience applause was on there, I'll let you know.
You could find a WAV of decent quality for free on the internet and load that into the voice creator. Assign it to a key and then edit and save as a TVN and you would have your own applause. You could even assign this WAV once it has been made into a custom WAV to one of the multipads, it's not too difficult once you get into it. The only trouble is that the instruction book doesn't go into using your own WAV sounds enough.

Thanks Craig. Its actually my friend who is looking for that sound. When he switched from G1000 to Tyros that was his only complaint about the Tyros. And i know of that sound only because of the VA5 i used to have. Unfortunately my friend doesnt use the internet at all so i try to find styles etc for him. He checked for that audience sound on his xp60 but it doesnt have it.

Hi Guys,
soundfonts ( many are free) may be an option for getting additional sfx sounds. They can be turned back into a wav file using a soundfont editor ( free).
Could also be a source for additional drum sounds. I've come across tr808 samples etc. Can't comment on the quality.
Can't help with how Tyros 2 sample function works, as I don't own one ( yet??)still deciding.

best wishes
Rikki
