Hello everyone:

I have a question for you, what kind of styles would you consider buying? as a user, I find myself using certain styles more, but, it get's a little old after a while, and I certainly would like more variety on these type.
Juan Miguel and I started making now NON-ETHNIC styles, we are finishing a Fast Foxtrot, a Slow Waltz, and we need to make more of.......that is where you came in, please, let me know what kind or gender you think is needed, the more detail you give me, more appreciate it is (example: Medium Foxtrot(around 140 bpm), Polka 120s, Slow....etc).

Since Yamaha Soft and Midi Spot sell the SAME styles, we want to offer a fresh and a different alternative.
We are trying to stay away from "Song styles" that kind of confine the style to just one song, we want to make more "generic" styles, so the player can use it in different songs.
Thank you.

Country Waltzes are almost non-existent.
They need to have the Bass line so that the V isn't sounding when it should be I. In other words, the alternating I-V bass line that many of the CW Waltzes use fits very few songs.

Thank you Donny, Gary and Don M.

Please, do not be bashful, we need to fill several pages of styles(on the keyboard), so,....this barely makes one page, I think we will be making for what I see, several Country Waltzes besides the other styles mention, but, tell me of more styles, tempos, or like West Coast Swing, or give me some song titles so I can get the idea of what is needed.
Thanks.

Hi Manuel,

I would totally love to see a collection featuring 'BRUSH DRUM' patterns styles to cover different music genres, especially jazz and country swing. Brush swirel, tap, fills, etc and with different bass line patterns (walking, I-V, etc), and tempos: ballads, med & uptempo swing, waltzes, & shuffle.

Here Are some downloadable examples to play:

Country Brush Loops III

Country Brush Loops V

Jazz Brushes

Another collection I'd love to see is a style set dedicated to tasty 'pedal steel guitar' fills, and suitable for Country and Hawaiian tunes.

Nashville Wire
Steel Loops

Thanks for considering my request,

Scott

Rock, rock and more rock. I don't mean old timey rock and roll, I mean contemporary rock. And including southern rock.

There are a few Latin styles that I need:

Modern Bachata (Adventura style)
Raggaeton
Modern Merengue (Suavemente, Mi Nina Bonita)
Salsa (both 3/2 and 2/3 clave variations)
Cumbia Mexicana (Grupo Limite)
Cumbia Moderna (Kumbia Kings)
A traditional 50's Cuban cha cha cha ( no drum set, and quater note cha cha bell, guiero, and congas)

Trio Style (like Los Ponchos with some lite maracas and bongos)

50's 12/8 (Earth Angel, Donna, Put your head on my shoulders)

Country 12/8 (Crazy)

Swing with a simple quarter note guitar (Freddie Green/Count Bassie)

I agree with Scott Lee about jazz brush styles!

How about a bossanova brush/stick?

Also I haven't heard a really good 60's Jobim style bossa.

Praise & Worship styles for the Korg PA series. They have none, Yamaha have a few, so there's a real market gap there.

good Brasilian styles,
all types,

Calypso, Bossa Nova, Samba,
Forro, Sertanejo, Axe, Pagode,
Baiao, Frevo, MPB, Xote

for many of these styles...
a few good audio Cavaquinho (small guitar) loops are needed

is there actually money to be made in this venture? I've often thought about how much better I could make country styles in particular. But I don't use an arranger enough to put the time into doing it for myself. Unless I worked for yamaha or roland or korg or whomever, I really can't see how it could ever be worth my time.

Hi Manuel,
unless I missed it,
which keyboards are you planning to write styles for?

As for Korg styles, I'd like to see some more 4/4 ballads, especially piano ballads.
A number of the korg ballads just don't quite suit.

Also luv to see something similar to the Movie type styles Yamaha create.

I luv music from some of the old musicals from back in the 50's /60's & standards. Sometimes hard to find a style to suit.

I luv piano arpeggio styles. Tend to find they sometimes work with some of the older type songs, when nothing else is a available.

I tend to find Yammie type styles work better with some of the music I play. They seem to bemore simple, but I luv my Korg as a keyboard.

Probably need a Korg keyboard with Yammie type styles. haahaa

best wishes

Hi,
apologies for going off topic, I converted a couple or so of the yammie worship styles to Korg , if they're of any use to you.
Maybe better than nothing, but maybe not much. haahaa

Rikki

p.s.

Manuel, I'm aware that at one stage, there were a few of the members who were interested in Praise & Worship styles for the Korg . Can't remember whether it was on Korg Forums or one of the other ones.

Hi Manuel,
if it's of any use to you, I can give you a link to the user styles I've put together & that the korg users are downloading.
Mine are only freebies, conversions & styles I put together from bits & pieces. Plus there's a lot of genres I haven't included, because I don't use them.

Shows members do use styles, & hopefully they would also pay for Good Quality styles.

The downloads vary between 100 to 350 downloads, so some type of styles must be more popular than others.
The biggest downloads have been for
12/8 Ballad
6/8 Soul ( korg doesn't have one)
Autum ( Piano Arpeggio style)

best wishes
Rikki

Rikki,
+1 for me too..we like a lot of the same music.

Add for me musical theatre & Motown, 4 Seasons, etc...60's stuff.

Actually because of styles...I am considering a switch back to Yamaha.
Waiting to see what the new Korg is first.

Thank you guys, all your suggestions are considered, I appreciate your input and interest on this matter.

For now, we make the styles for Korg and Yamaha, perhaps in the near future, we will include other brands and models too. As time goes by, and we develop more styles to cover all genders and taste on music, we will do our best to please everyone, as you know, this is not possible, but we will try.

Thank you so much, this is very helpful to us.

Hi Manuel,
a lot of mine are just styles I've converted from a midifile of a psr style, or Band in a Box style or a style I've put together from mix of Korg, psr, BIAB tracks etc ( they'r not recorded from scratch by me, haven't got the talent)
But they are styles that the Korg lacks.

I'm hoping the info on the site shows up for you , the same way as it does for me ie date posted, no. of downloads. If not, I can write them down for you.
http://www.4shared.com/dir/17715993/d9da16c7/sharing.html

Also just realized one I forgot to add to site was a 6/8 slow rock style which was very popular on the creatasong style forum.
Again, korg didn't have one similar.

I've noticed over the last 3 years, a number of Yammie players who decided to cross over to Korg, sort of end up going back to Yamaha, because of the lack of certain types of styles. Or at least that's the impression I've gotten.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi Lee,
well, my Pa800 is over 3 years old now.

I'm hopeful that if the ugrade is worthwhile, he'll let me do it. Personally I'd probably go for the equivalent of the PA800 rather than the pro. I don't really need the 76 keys, the portability is more important to me.

Really looking forward to what they come up with.

Hi Manuel,
the question of new styles, definately pops up every now & again on the Korg forums.

There was even a competition a couple of years ago, to try & get members interested in submitting User styles that could be shared. Uptake was apathetic.
Guess members either don't have the time or the ability to create their own.
Easier to buy them, if you can find what you need.

I've been trying to find an old post, where members submitted some of the types of styles they'd like to see more of. I think it was one of the members behind the Korg DVD Tutorials was considering creating styles. We got all excited, unfortunately, never eventuated.

The difference I've noticed between my psr1500 & the korg is, I can usually find at least 1 style ( if not more) that's generic & simple enough to use with the type of music I like to play, with Korg, it's a bit more difficult.
It's great to have a flashy 16 or 8 bar style, but it sometimes makes a style , less useable.

Enough prattling.

Good Luck on your venture.

best wishes
Rikki
