Hi
some question about SD1, please help me.
- can I record C-key patterns and hear them also in complex chord forms in style performance? (Gaugm7/9)
- can I send style parts to midi out? and aux outs?
- can I use two finger chords compact forms?
- does a 88 keys version exist?
- can I record style variations completely different by each other (even different tempo signature)?
- what are the 2 different chord recognition modes with the midi - fisa (belgique...)? are those appliable to pedalboard?

thanks in advance

Angelo.

Some answers for you -
- can I record C-key patterns and hear them also in complex chord forms in style performance? (Gaugm7/9)
>>>AJ: Yes while you are still in Pattern Edit mode.
- can I send style parts to midi out? and aux outs?
>>>AJ: Yes. In audio/aux out, you have 4 outputs to assign different parts of the style to.
- can I use two finger chords compact forms?
>>>AJ: Yes - in EASY1/2 mode.
- does a 88 keys version exist?
>>>AJ: No. You will have to use any 88note keyboard controller and a module (e.g. Ketron XD3 or Midijay).
- can I record style variations completely different by each other (even different tempo signature)?
>>>AJ: Yes. You can have tempo variation within the style.
- what are the 2 different chord recognition modes with the midi - fisa (belgique...)? are those appliable to pedalboard?
>>>AJ: Yes. The other one is INTERATIONAL.

Is there a guide how can a user make a style with tempo variations? (and tempo signature?)
I need desperately to find a way to make a style with 3/8 intros and 9/8 A_B_C_D parts
80% of greek discography is based in this style is caled zeipekiko
I have to press stop count 3 and play the fills by microphone till now .it is tragicomic for a so expensive instrument

Hi,
don't know if it would be practical as far as performance goes, but could you use 2 styles & switch from one to the other
( with maybe a foot pedal??)
Pressing the
"count/pause/resart" button, helps change the style instantly without having to wait for the style to play to the end of the bar.
best wishes
Rikki

Well I try this t first is imposible to change from one style to another on SD1 in a measure loading takes time and if you loose one meter you have to wait you cannot press restart because then you have to .. wait more and beleve me one measure of 9/8 is long in time = 40. When I try to make counds (fills) of 3+3+3 in intro but pressing the restart in first 3/9 of intro just restarts the intro and doesn't going to A one solution is to make 6/9 empty and just wait to start the last 3/9 fill to join
I also try to ghange to 9/4 so the tempo wil be bit faster like 80 (beter control the timing but still the intros and fillins have the same problem . And by the way some times when a diferent program change is in the fill ins continus in A and B ... so All the style changes ...

Hi,
what if you loaded the styles into flash memory? they're the one's I tried it with.
(I did it off the screen where the main style is in the middle & there's 5 styles on each side ready to choose.)
Sorry, not sure how to fix your fill problem.
As for the sounds changing, couldn't you just edit the style and make sure the sounds are the same for the 2 styles you're switching between.
best wishes

Thanks rikki I think is the last thing to do
the only problem is to find which factory style i will sacrifice.
I would like to have an extra bank to put there all my oriental slyles. like a User bank loaded in rom so will be there every time the Sd1 boots . The only section that is near is Ethnic #. but it has only one style for replasce the others are from factory
I was wondering is there a way to get rid off some unused internal styles like celtic, march, foxbalad....(old fasion) and but some new ... in place

Hi,
I get the impression from the manual
( SD1 manual bottom page 59), that an original flash style can be loaded back in to an sd1 ( from folder 90 ( reload)
I haven't tried it, so, not sure how / if it works. ( Could be worth checking folder 90 to see if the 109 flash styles exist in there) Might mean you could actually set up the flash styles the way you want??

I actually have the sd1+ which has some additional functions that the sd1 doesn't have. So what may work on mine, may not work on yours. So please be careful, I've only had mine for 6 weeks & I'm still learning.

My sd1+ came with 2 manuals.
1. Ketron SD1 (Which is where I found info on page 59)
2. Ketron SD1+ Quick manual ( which lists the extra functions of the sd1+.

Normally, you cannot replace internal styles of a keyboard ( not technics, not roland, not yamaha) and I doubt you can do it on the ketron either, just the flash styles.

best wishes
Rikki
please note
I've corrected my "custom styles" to the correct terminolgy of " Flash Styles ".
Thanks AJ for setting me straight.

The SD1/SD1Plus comes with 109 internal FLASH styles which can all be replaced. It's the 198 ROM styles (usually from page 2 onwards or those in small letters) that can be modified as custom styles, but not replaced.

Thanks,

AJ
