Team,

Any suggestion for a low cost but good recording microphone? I'd like to use the E80 (xlr) mic in or the MidJay (1/4" jack) mic in. So I think condenser is out of the question or is there a solution to power it from another source?

Thanks folks,
Jimmy

Jimmy,

For a great, inexpensive mic, I suggest the Samson Q7. If the system requires phantom power, you can purchase an inexpensive phantom power pack at any GC. The mic sells for under $70 and I've seen the power packs go for $29.

Hi Gary I got a couple of Samson Q7 but I have not tried them on recording. I think they were designs for live vocals. Maybe I should try them on recording.
Hi DonM reviews on the PR20 is pretty impressive. May I ask why you are selling yours?
Regards
Jim

I got it from my late friend Hank, who never had time to use it before he died.
I don't do any recording except live on the job, so it's overkill for what I need.
