Does anyone know of a good business software for a musician. I need to be able to record the dates, music choices, musicians, prices. I would like it to automatically produce invoices, send out contracts, etc, etc.

Chony,

Most of the time there is no one size fits all software when it comes to running a business. However, Quickbooks is about as close as it gets. It will do everything but the contracts. Many of us have been using for several years, and it's very user friendly.

A good word processor will take care of the contracts, but you should download one to create a format that will provide you with all the legal options as well. There are several inexpensive legal programs that have loads of generic contracts built in that can easily be modified to fit your particular needs.

Good Luck,

Gary

One thing I forgot to mention about Quickbooks and Quicken, they interface with TurboTax, which is a great time saving feature when income tax time rolls around.

Hi

Not always nessesary to buy any special software. Many already have and use software like MS Office
or similiar.
Excel is capable to do this. If you're not familiar how to set up the book/spreadsheet to do this you
maybe have anyone who can help?
I'm not any expert myself, but a workmate does magic things within Ecxel, it's quite a good software.

Cheers

I've also expressed an interesting in writing software like this for musicians. Something that manages bookings, has a calender function, deals with contact details, possible earnings, and so on.....

The offer still stands.
If a limited number of people ( say 5 or so) provide me with what functions you want and beta test the program, they can have it for free.

James
