Logan (my son and bass player) has been playing with loopers for a few years. He now has the biggest Boss RC-50, and recently, requested a replica of an old cocktail drum kit for Christmas.

We now use that combination to do scrap/practice drum tracks (we use one Sm-57).

It's fast, a lot more live, and FUN! What's better than simply recording a drum track on a digital recorder is the ease of switching between takes and making on the fly alterations right at the work station.

We have several guitars a bass and keyboards plugged into the looper, and a variety of effects between the ouper output and the SWR.

When we get something we want to save, we just dump it into the little Zoom H2.

My grandson (our drummer in the trio) is back in the back now, laying down a scratch track for a video project.

If it works out, we may take a guitar, upright and this little trap on a few small gigs.

Maby not the best solution for scratch tracks, but neat and "old school" as hell!

Man, I LOVE our TOYS!

R.

Old School is definitely where it's at.
