I personally would say the Mackies, just because I don't like the JBLs. I think they are very overly aggressive with their tweeters. Where that mackies are a bit smoother.

I've sold allot of RCF and FBTs which where the original design for the Mackies and then almost everyone after that.

Good luck

Thanks, Frank

I haven't purchased anything yet. I have now dis-banded my trio and going solo. I was trying see what would be the best for me to carry / sound and price.

I know that the mackies are 40 lbs and retails for 600.00. The JBLs are 32 lbs and retails for 800.00. I have not tested the new mackies v2 as of yet, I did hear the older one that were made in italy. As far as the JBL I was concerned why the 200.00 price jump and if the sound is much better for the extra 200 bucks.

Also one major concern I have is that Loud (Mackie) maybe filing bankruptcy? At least that what I seen posted on the internet.

After my research, I'll give you a call.
Thanks

I owned and used the SRM450's (original USA version), they sound nice, bright and deep wuth a looooong throw.

Frank is right about the JBL's.

A while ago I purchased a pair of SRM350's (China made) ....and sold them right away because they sound poor and the build is cheap. (lots of noise and cracklin' speakers)

Now using the Bose L1's and I love them (also Made in China )

I think that the SRMv2 are all now made in china, no more italian made.

How do the china srms compare to the italian srms?

IMO, anything that cheapens an original design is not good. I'd say the Italian-made Mackies are better. I know my C300 passive cabs are great (same design as the 450 powered).

I have the C300 cabs and an 808s powered mixer for what you'll pay for a pair of SRM450's. email me.

The only ones made in Italy are the RCF, DBTechnologies and the FBT, the mackies and jbls are made in China

And now, adding to the PA Speaker list, we also have the just released power speakers ... by Ketron.
