cass ... thank YOU for 'pushing' this ...as I said in an earlier post, I for one was quite impressed at the talent level ... and I would have LOVED to have heard from more of the members - you KNOW who you are ...

As for restrictions, I think that having no restrictions is a good way for people to showcase how THEY use an arranger kb - whether as a gigging pro, home user, whatever ... if someone wants to present a tune using a SMF then so be it... I could care less ... I'm just interested in hearing what others are doing musically ... - but I WOULD like to know if it is a style or whatever ...

Again, cass, thanks for leading the way, and thanks to all who submitted ...

On to July and jam #2 ...

OK ... I liked the organ in the background ... is that part of the style, or you playing it as a LH voice?
I'm not crazy about the tempo ... seemed a little too slow and I think that may have messed up your meter/phrasing ...

JMHO ...

I hope you two don't mind me moving this to here - I just wanted to make sure all the entries stayed together.

Jerry - Good to see that you made the deadline and also figured out how to post. I hope you don't mind that I kind of hijacked your thread and moved it over to the eJam thread - I just wanted you to be part of the big picture.

I thought you did a great job on the song. I too want to know about that organ LH. Is that part of the style - what style and what keyboard? Thanks for posting, for sure.

Not at all caspp, I am glad you did. I messed up on how I posted it, I meant to put it in this thread. The keyboard is Tyros2 the style is 6/8 soul as for the organ I revoiced the style changing instrument voicing, thus organ part is part of the style. Recorded in Sonar, and sound forge.

Tony....
You have excellently captured one of the many moods "Nearness" can evoke. I loved the "lilting" quality of your arrangement and the runs in your right hand. Sweet.

I am not familiar with your KN. I assume you can adjust volumes within a style. I would have like to have heard a tad more of the bass line. Other than that..nothing but accolades for another really nice adaptation of the song.

Tony, I echo Cass' thoughts especially seeing the couples on the dance floor. Thanks for posting.

Cass
I am gratefull for participate in this pleasant post.
My tks for all SZoners that posted your music, talents, virtues and faults.
The most important point: We knew a lot of musical faces shared here.
I didn't see this as a competition, just a delicious musical salad.
Bravo Cass, tks once more

Eddie, Yes, the volume of any voice in a style or SMF can be adjusted, even on-the-fly ... I am used to playing through the Z-5500 with the sub pushing the bass, so perhaps it was a little light in "Nearness" ...

Eddie, Dnj, and Steve ... thank you .....
