I just purchased the JV-1010 in hopes of augmenting the sounds on my Alesis QS6.1. I use a Yamaha MDF to play back SMF I've edited in Cakewalk during live performances.

I've tried using the Sound Diver program to assign the patches I need to each channel then store it under a user performance in the JV-1010. It seems like it works fine, then I can turn off the synth and turn it back on, and request that performance in Sound Diver, and it still recognizes it.

However, in Cakewalk, my files do not play through the appropriate performance bank! I've assigned the bank changes on channel 16. Does the JV have to always be set on PART 16 to recieve the change? Also, can the JV recognize volume and pan settings from the standard MIDI file?

Not to sound like a dope, but if anyone can explain in a step by step fashion how to get this thing to do what I want, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!
