One of the limitations of the Tyros instruments is adding new sounds, (Unlike others Yamaha doesn’t allow Akai samples etc to be loaded) however here is a program (It may have been posted before) that allows Yamaha owners to convert other samples into its own format, (As with all converters some work will need to be done by the user after the conversion has taken place) thus allowing uses access to the vast number of sound samples on the market.

I use that program myself for all the sample libraries I create. http://www.irishacts.com/ezypal/index.php

Funny enough though the programs main feature is not just converting samples from one format to another regardless of the applications title, it's actually it's ability to sample is where it really does it's magic.

This program can load VSTi's and at high speeds, digitally sample any sound selected into any format you need. It can even sample any keyboard connected to the midi port and audio in of your PC.

You just set the notes you need to sample, and the program samples the sound automatically and creates the multisample. For the most part all your left with is the need to loop the samples, which I might add is rather simple.

I did a little video on looping samples with this program here. http://www.irishacts.com/misc/looping/loop.swf

If you could sample a really good drum set for the Tyros, I (and many others) would be willing to pay for it...

Please let me know if this is in the works.

Hi chony.

Very sorry to say but the level of piracy in the Yamaha community was totally unexpected back then when I released that data, and at such a level that it didn't even allow me to cover the cost of buying the keyboard let alone make a profit.

Maybe it's because Styles are so freely available that they expected the Samples to be free also, I'm not quite sure. The hurtful part of all this was though that 3 individuals actually purchased everything I had available and setup pay pal accounts to resell them.

They even pretended to be selling the samples on my behalf because they where better known to the Yamaha community as I was.

If it wasn't that, then it was a rapidshare free for all.

Aren't Yamaha supposed to have something like their IDG for styles for samples in the T3?

Rumor was, because of the internet connection required to load these up, there might be some kind of copy protection or unique identifier...

Have you talked to YamahaUS? Maybe if they have a secure delivery system, they could distribute your content? A piece of the pie is better than no pie at all...
