Yes..., the MO's are def full of patches geared towards electronica. Same is said for its big brother (Motif ES).
However.., Yamaha (IMO the biggest cheapskate on this subject) completey screws buyers on the poly with some of their keyboard line. The MO's use the same sound engine as the Motif ES that was designed to run on 128 notes.., then they literally cut that in half. First big mistake on this line. Once you get into song creation you'll then see how fast 64 notes can choke on those workstations.
Korg's TR line was only 62 notes but handled it better (also considering the TR's were 2 element voice structure). Roland (even on their lower line) for some time have been using 64 notes minimal. Now all these new models (even the budget lines from Roland are using 128 note poly)
The new M50 ups that poly to 80 notes now. Hell even Casio is spitting out 48 note poly keys.
Roland's budget workstation line since the release of the Fantom Xa have been 128 voice. Yamaha is off their rocker IMO on some issues regarding what they cut on the lower line to reduce competition between their models. Sampling, expansion, ect I can understand, but taking out the 5.0 V-8 engine and replacing that with a 4 cly to drive the same vehicle is wrong.
