Hello everybody,

Actually, the coding for OS2.0 has ended some weeks ago. After that there has been the usual beta-testing time, where residual bugs left back by alfa-testing have been sorted out.

While the software engineers were involved in bug- fixing, musicians were fine-tuning the new sounds and styles. Technical writers and translators where working of the various support documents. Distributors were alerting retailers and attending exhibitions. And production was doing everything the make the new OS arrive in a perfect shape.

Currently, OS2 is in its Golden Master phase. You can expect it in a few days, and you'll see it was worth the wait.

Now, please excuse me, but I must go playing with it Razz

Cheers,
Paolo

Great news Steve, thanks for posting!

I need something to play with over the Thanksgiving holiday, this sounds like it will be ready by then.

Good luck to all you KORG people with the new OS....nice to see manufacturers supporting their customers with Free upgrades instead of having to sell what you have & buy another all the time. Please keep us posted when it all is in motion, I for one am very interested.

I have heard unconfirmed rumours that there will be 50 new styles and 54 DNC sounds (instead of the 20 DNC sounds first announced). Hopefully it will be out this week. The waiting is becoming unbearable

Kind regards,
Tommy

TommyF,
I heard the same thing, from someone that should know...Cool!

It's pretty exciting...and not long now to wait.

AND we can use DNC functions on any sound...thus making our own DNC sounds if we want.

With the issues many seem to be having with the CURRENT feature set I wonder if Korg really needs to add more before they solve or even admit there are issues for some that are casuing a few not to trust the board in a live situation.

Maybe the new Firmware will resolve.....

Kingfrog, what issues are those?

I have no issues with my Pa2xpro. And if I did, I'd be kicking and screaming.

Do you own a Korg?

Lee, thanks for confirming this.

Yes, this is the best part. Combined with the most powerful - and fully editable - synth and effects engine in an arranger keyboard this will make the Pa800/Pa2X a killer keyboard for both sound creation and live playing (if it wasn't already ).

Kind regards,
Tommy

Perhaps the issues discussed on the threads here about fills, and the issues discussed in GREAT detail and anger over at the Korgforums site. Or haven't you read those threads?

You don't have to own a Korg to hear those issues loud and clear from REAL owners who are reporting lockups on gigs, multiple burned out LED's, and acknowledging the fills issue. Just because, so far, YOU haven't had a problem doesn't mean they don't exist, does it?

But feel free to imply that, unless we OWN a Korg (and Kingfrog used to, until recently), we have no place commenting. For all the good it will do you

The Fill in issue associated with the Korg Pa series is best explained here ... with some examples using the Pa2xPro and Pa800.

Diki,
Good point...
I would hope that here we all try to help and support each other in our common goal of arranger keyboards, including dealing with some issues that any brands might have or develop....no matter which brand we individually have.

Thanks,
Lee

Amen to that, leeboy...

All to many here immediately tag ANY negative comment about their arranger as a 'put-down', perhaps because invariably, that's what THEY do to others

However, when some of us here do it, it is not meant as a put-down, but as a goad to get the manufacturer to RAISE them up. Deny the issues, trivialize them, attack those that dare to mention them, and all you are doing is making it easier for the manufacturer to ignore YOUR problems. You REALLY want that?

And the easy way to find out if someone is just putting you down, or trying to raise you up...? Find out if they are critical of their OWN arranger as well...

Without self-criticism, criticism of others' arrangers probably IS just 'bashing'
