I have a user style and I would like to change the octave of one of the instruments. How do I do it? or can they not be changed?
thanks

Gee's i wish i could remember this...

wheres Gary Diamond!!

i am sure its either in the mixer OR in the style editor... u may have to do it for that particular channel for each variation (including fills) if you want it to be consistent throughout the style...

Yes. Use the Sound/Setting button to get to the Part Setting page of your display, choose the part you want to change, then change the Key Shift setting

Adi.....hahahahah yes its the first thing I thought of when I read this post... Roland makes all this including part transpose all So easy in Makeup tools>Common plus so much more.
But to get back on topic I'm glad someone answered the question......& now that it's mentioned I remember the Yamaha process for this editing task from past experiences.

Just changing the octave in a style part isn't always the answer. You often need to go into the Style Composer edit section, and constrict the RANGE of the sound. Parts get transposed around due to chord input, and what sounds good transposed up an octave in one key may sometimes get too high in another...
