You can use a lot of programs, ranging from free ones -like Music Match Juke Box or Apple Quick Time- to Sony Sound Forge or Adobe Audition, that give you more options on the encoding process (and also greater editing possibilities).

want to use any money to buy software, it's free.

Mixcraft4 may be the best software under $100..It does so much..by far the best I am using..and I have a lot of $300-$400 recording programs
..Free 7 day trial..download it and be amazed..Great people to deal with too..
