Greetings,
A few days ago, someone posted a message asking how to use downloaded .syx files on thir XP-80. Although I have not seen any responses on this, I too would like to know how to use these, as I have downloaded at least 3MB worth....

Thanks

I did find a way out. Link to this page http://www.frisbee.net.au/jv/resources/jv_xpfaq.html and look in section 4.5. there is a resource provided for tool that converts .syx files to .mid file. It works in the DOS and Unit environment. Basically, you run this tool on the sysx file and get a .mid file. Take the .mid file and load into your XP80 using the floppy drive. You should be able to load the patches. I tried it and it worked seemlessly. Caution: Before you do this, if you have already customized patches in your user banks, do remember to save them (use Data Transfer functions in XP80). Hope this helps.
