Curious about something Frank. When you say more bottom.., is it new samples or does it sound as if they made effects setting changes to make the kits pop more?

The keybed feels much better to me, but it could be that I have played the S900 way too much,.
The VH seems the same but for some reason a little smoother, probably because of the better fx proc.
The have an assign slider which by default is for the keyboard volume on the right, pretty cool.
Seems to me the style are pretty much the same with some new ones but the styles I thought that were poor, are still poor.
SA2 voices are very nice, and they are doing the the mono/poly mix with slides, bends, and other fx on the way play or slurred, very cool.
They have a dedicated eq for the yamaha speaker system.
Did I mention how nice that screen looks!!!
ok I gotta go ship some keyboards, I'll be checking the forum, if anyone has any particular questions, just fire away

Lee Not really. He was all about the M3. I told him about my experience with the PA2x and thought it was a great gigging keyboard. He wants us to carry the workstations. We won't carry any because people will demo them here then but them on the net to save the tax. But we do carry the VOX and MArshall line form him. But we only really carry the Yamaha Home keyboard line. We have one Tyros 3 and I can tell you it will sit for a long time. I think the only reason my boss oredered it is because I bought one on the employee program for 10% less than wholesale and he figures I will be the only one in the store able to demo it. This is a Clavinova market. I'll sell $5,000 CVP 405s while the Tyros sits. Even though Myrtle Beach has a lot of work for singles and duos. NO one uses Arrangers on the job. Even My wife who has made her living as a professional musician will record the arranger parts on a CD and fill in the rest on the gig. She would rather haul the 88 keys and her Guitar around and play with tracks. Except for guitars, baby grands, and Home Keyboards this is a low end market. No $3000 keyboards sell quickly. PSR900s do well especially with Latinos for some reason. All working musicians around here still see arrangers keyboards as "less than professional" sophisticated karaoke machines. Like me they buy them for studio use and drag a workstation to the gigs.

Waiting for your reply.
Sunny Sunny, I have never used the Tyros speakers on the T2 so I really can't comment on that. But it looks like they have re-worked the compressor and fx so the keyboard as a whole has a better fuller sound. Strings sounds are great, very lush, organs are good but I still think they are too" 60's European" I'm not sure if that helps, I have never truelly been a big organ fan of Yamaha. But they are better sounding than before. compared to the T2 and S900. the styles are pretty much the same except for 50 new ones that are scattered and not visibly listed as "new" the T2/S900 compared to the T3, the sounds and styles seem to have a little more umph, a combination of a little more bass, more treble, better compression, better freq response, I played 2 weeks ago using a s900 and had to mess alot with the eq to get it to sound like my PA2xpro, but the T3 seems to be pretty close out of the box. It's just hard to try to explain sound in words I hope this helps? Frank ------------------ www.audioworksct.com 888.374.6076 Frank@audioworksct.com KETRON, KORG, MACKIE, SAMSON..........,

[This message has been edited by sunny152 (edited 10-02-2008).] I think Frank will agree the T3 has immensely widened the gap between the S900 and the Tyros family. I felt the s900 was nearly 2/3s of the T2 which made it difficult to justify the cost of the T2. The S900 IMO is 1/8 the T3 in every area, The money gap has been filled quite nicely. You really have to hear one live. I set the store's up with the Speakers. I never liked them on the T2 and I feel no different with the T3. But maybe some people will use them as a monitoring system on a gig. For that purpose they are fine. There are much better Small speaker set ups (albeit not as slick to mount etc) as the Yamaha set up. Klipsch and Bose comes to mind.

For a full review of the Tyros 3, check out this url: http://www.yamahapkowner.com/?page_id=585 Yamaha have released both the Tyros3 and Tyros2 file conversion software for Windows. This application converts files of the Registration Memory, Song, Style, OTS (One Touch Setting), Multi Pad, Custom Voice, and Custom Voice Library created on the Tyros2 for use with the Tyros3. Yamaha have also released the Tyros2 edition of the software. Owners of the original Tyros(1), PSR-9000 or 9000Pro keyboards first need to convert files to Tyros2 compatibility before running the Tyros3 file conversion software. (You can’t use the Tyros3 conversion program to convert files straight from Tyros(1) to Tyros3!).
