Well I think that "very special unveiling" will be the T-3.

However , I could be wrong,

I would like to see if Roland is going to come out with a new Arranger to replace the aging E80 , Roland could really upset the Yamaha camp , but I`m not expecting that to happen.

I think next year would be the earliest for Roland and Korg won`t be doing anything but up grading the PA800 OS.

So right now I think that Yamaha has the best seat in the house , and I think the T-3 will be a big hit.

They have a solid customer base , a stable OS , and a very good history.

So I say ... Bring on the T-3 !!

You know, I think the only thing 'aging' around here is US!

E80 is a year younger than the T2 and G70. It JUST got a brand new OS, adding MP3 playback. That resets the clock a bit, IMO, especially compared to Yamaha, that never add new features except those that ease online style purchasing (yawn ).

But let's just take a closer look at this, shall we...?

How many of us consider that we have done more than scratched the surface of such a complex keyboard in just two years? How many of us have exhausted the possibilities of patch, style and registration creation in just two years? How many of us have even read the manual from cover to cover in two years?

Here's the REAL question, IMO...

How many of us are so bored with our own playing, we are looking to buy a new arranger as fast as they can bring them out, to alleviate that boredom? How many of us want a new arranger for no other reason than we can't be bothered to dig deeper into the (very complex) one we already have, and discover these new abilities for ourselves?

Try to answer this with honesty...

Would you play better on a new arranger, or would you play better if you practiced a lot more? Take $1000, probably what you might need to come up with for trading out the old arranger, and buying the new TOTL, and spend it on lessons with a GOOD teacher. I guarantee, you will sound better than plonking down the same old stuff on a new arranger. And it would be YOU that got better

Far better to play well on an obsolete arranger, than to play the same obsolete stuff on a brand new one, IMO...

Not from the demos I've heard so far. It's a great OS, very much a tweaker's dream come true, but in all fairness, I STILL haven't heard a demo that made me go "I GOTS to have one of these!" (especially from anyone here at SZ).

Not to mention lack of distributors, lack of easy repair, lack of communication with the manufacturer, and a price tag that will choke a horse!

But if I ever get that Butlins gig again....
