I finally decided for the Korg Pa500 after a long internal debate (with myself). I am so happy because I made the best option for me. This arranger is so INCREDIBLY good! I had the option of upgrading my PSR 1500 for a PSR s900 (2800 Us$) paying 2200Us$ extra money, or keeping my Yamaha 1500 and buying a Korg Pa500 for 1525 Us$. I thought it was not worth paying that much money for only 50 voices I was interested in the s900(Mega and SA voices). I only heard the Pa500 thanks to some demos in internet but I never imagined those much clearer sounds would come out of this machine live. The trumpets, trombones, saxes, flutes and guitars are velocity articulated and there are so many!,the guitars in the styles are so dynamic (like Mega), the drums are awesome and so many other functions as a controller that can be personalized and allows me to play all my keyboards from it. On the other hand the keys are very fragile and bend so easily it seems they will break at any moment as well as the plastic cover doesn´t look very professional. I wanted to thank Korg for their business policy in the rest of the world (outside central countries)allowing us to enjoy all their excellent products almost at the same price and time than in the USA and Europe and not like Yamaha that doubles the price of their products importing only the PSR line one or two years after they come to the market abroad. So thanks Korg

Aside from the lack of readily available third party or converted styles you made a great choice.

Good luck & keep us posted on your progress.

Well, now I have thousands of Yamaha styles in my PSR 1500 (without mega voices) and some hundreds available for Korg.

Vagro,
You were getting ROYALY ripped in the trade deal for the s900. Be thankful that you went another way! They were stealing your 1500 and STILL making money.

Hi Vagro,
congratulations.
I bought the Korg PA800 about 8 months ago & luv it.
I also kept my psr1500. Wasn't worth selling it for the small amount of money I would have gotten for it. I don't really play it much anymore.I've got 100's of styles for it so it comes in handy if I can't find a suitable PA800 style for a song or just want to try something different. I then convert the psr style to PA800. I prefer playing the korg , to playing the psr.

best wishes
Rikki

Hello Vagro -

Glad you're enjoying your 500. I am one of the happy Korg campers, as I have and LOVE the PA800
