In the S900, what is the largest stick that you can use before running out of space in the keyboard and on the stick itself.

I put my songs, some words and linked styles in registration.

Currently, my 2.0 only holds about 80 songs or so.

Thanks,
zuki

I'm using a 1GB stick at my store. I have over 1,800 songs and about 1600 styles and there is still loads of memory.

I use a 1 gig stick and it holds lots of styles and songs....way more than 80

Are you putting the songs and styles in folders, as the S900 will only read so many pages?

Ian,

I'm putting 8 songs in a bank. I can only get about 9 banks total. I also have my custom styles saved and linked to the songs.

I'm doing something wrong. I'll have to figure it out.

Zuki...
Put your songs in folders by genre or alpha files and there is almost no limit to what you can store. I do the same with multi pads, 3rd party styles, voices and tons of other stuff...all on a 528...and still have room.

I'm using a 2 gig and a 4 gig. The 2 is for files and the 4 is for recording.

There's a limit to how many files in a FOLDER the S900 will read. I think it's 80, but I don't have the kb or manual in front of me.

It looks like you are limited by the number of FILES you can have in your OS, not the capacity of the stick. The answer is to put more songs in each file.

I've used a 20 gig external hard disc with my 3k, so I wouldn't expect any issues with a big USB stick, but I would format it on the S900 rather than on a PC / MAC.

After that your limiting factor might be the "maximum 250 (ish) entries in any folder" limit which has been a "feature" of the Yamaha keyboards for a while. I'm assuming this applies to the S900, it certainly applies to my 3k!
