Sounds fantastic, quick easy setup, easy to transport, looks like a Christmas Tree for drag racers, easily handles audiences to 125.

Gary, it looks great. I know you have posted info on the middle speaker, would you lead me there again. I have grown tired of the pole thing, kinda hard to handle and the height is really not needed.

The center speaker was purchased from Radio Shack a few years ago by a good friend. He never used it and gave it to me. He said it sold for less than $30 at the time and it has a pair of 5-inch speakers in the housing and weighs about 6 pounds. The four Logitech satellite speakers are held in place with a pair of #10 panhead wood screws that were inserted through the side of each speaker housing from the inside. All the wires exit the base of the speaker enclosures and connected to the sub via RCA plugs that are labled. I hope to change this to a single, multiple-pin connection in the next week or two, which will reduce the setup time to less than a minute. The tower sits atop the sub and even at a volume level of Boost 6 they do not move at all. Boost 6 will blow the doors off most restaurants and bars.

The system can be positioned either to the side of the keyboard, or even a bit behind, and using the headset mic, or the Samson Q7 there is no feedback. And, I don't think it will have to raised any higher than it is to reach a fair distance in most venues, and the distribution of sound seems to be fair good.

I'm going to try it out at a relatively large fire hall and an American Legion next week to see how well it performs under those conditions. I'll update the post at that time with my findings.

The one thing I failed to mention on the orriginal post is this 550-watt, 1,000-watt peak sound system is currently selling for $199 at some Internet stores. And, IMO, it sounds a lot better than a pair of cubes, and the cost is far less.

The Z-5500 system is awesome...even at the old price.

A buddy of mine plays a Hammond XK-1 and an S900 through his...the system is unmodified and set up for in the house...pretty incredible sound...certainly no lack of power.

That looks like a real good idea. And I believe you mentioned the Radio Shack speaker added some sound in the mid-range. I might want to test that out and get mine out of moth balls

Gary, you are doing some fantastic things with the Z5500 – and you still have the Psr3000 – that’s one good lesson – there is so much you can get from a keyboard if you get into it, buying or stepping up is not always the answer.
