..... what surprise may be in store for you when you get out of bed in the morning ...
This AM I had an appointment with the eye doctor to check on some 'floaters' I had noticed in my eye around Christmas ... At that time I had also noticed some 'light flashes' on the right side of my right eye ... Long story short, after the exam he sends me directly to a retina specialist where I ended up undergoing an 'urgent' laser procedure to repair a tear in the retina ... The specialist said it was good that we caught it early, otherwise it could have led to a detached retina and loss of sight in the eye ... Now we will have to keep monitoring both eyes on a regular basis to make certain another tear doesn't occur ...
As our buddy Gary says "Gettin' old ain't for wimps" ...

Glad you caught it in time. A good example why men, in particular, should not wait to go to a doctor when something isn't right.

Tony, wow sorry to hear that, but happy to hear they caught it before it turned into a worse situation. I would have never known you had that problem with your eye, seeing you on Sunday.

Glad you were able to dodge the bullet. Docs keep taking body parts from me, and for some strange reason they never seem to put in any new ones.

Today (except for a sinus infection and chest cough ) I feel fine ... no thought to the
eye at all ...
Steve ... when I saw you on Sunday I had NO IDEA what was going on with my eye ...

My eye Dr was EMPHATIC about me seeing the specialist immediately, and when I tried to make the appointment with the specialist later in the day, the receptionist was also quite emphatic about me getting there ASAP ... I'm just fortunate nothing worse happened between the time I first felt it and yesterday ...

Ian ... I have no problem with getting OLDER ... it's getting OLD that sucks ...
