I'm looking for a not-very-expensive synth, and the ones i've found are, basically,

Roland Juno-D
Yamaha MM6
Roland SH-201
Korg X50

I've never had one, and barely don't know how to use them (Yes, i'm a totally new in keyboard/synth world!), so if someone could help me to decide wich one would be better, that would help a lot.

I'm planning to play in a rock (progrock-metal) band, wich one would fit better?

Depending on what's available in Spain, I would recommend the Roland Juno D...more polyphony than the Yamaha MM6, which would be my second recommendation.

I haven't tried the Korg X50 or the Roland SH-201 so I can't comment on them.

Fran, you're getting about as fickle as me. Truly, I don't see much out there that really excites me right now.

Arekusu, of the keyboards you mention, I feel the X50 is the most powerful and worth the money. Another possibility might be a Yamaha S-03.

How come your selling the Juno G, Fran...I thought you were using it as an alternative to dragging around the big old G70?

Ya musta got a young roadie.

Ian, when I finally get the G70 set up on stage..it is the board I want to play...It allows me more choices live...and besides I am in my comfort zone with the G70..

I am trying to force myself to use the G70 at all times...and not get lazy..

The Juno G is a super lightweight keyboard and I can easily use it with the band, but my heart is with the G70..

Cass, Not really being finicky like Donny..
I just buy and try like I have always done...you are just more aware of my recent purchases...

my vote goes to
1.x50 soundwise (bad keys)tiny control ,fragile knobs)
2.mm6 feature wise,(also 11 ibs -super light),USB to device that play mid files, arranger functions, mega voices, real time knobs .but 32 poly
