I am not a Yamaha owner (YET) I have demoed both KBs, I like both. My question, is the Tyros worth over TWICE the PRICE of the 2100??? I know the MegaVoices are a PLUS!! BUT $1195 for the 2100 and $2795 for the Tyros?? I know prices will vary from place to place but for the sake of reference this is the price at the local Sam Ash.

Hi John. In addition to the obvious sound improvements, The Tyros' solid key build & responsive key feel provides me the ability for far more expressive (musical) playing. Other Tyros pluses include: Hard Drive support for quicker song access & loading, as well as a huge storage capacity, it's LARGE color LCD screen and lighted arranger buttons make for easier 'on the fly' performance navigation, twice the USER ROM means more user styles can be linked to the MusicFinder, and 3 vs 2 footswitch assignments, a necessity for me as I gotta have: sustain, vocalizer on/off, as well as a 'fill to self' pedal.

Is it worth the price difference? Only you can decide.

I own BOTH the PSR2000 and Tyros. Though both are great keyboards, which one do I play exclusively now? . . . the Tyros of course! - Scott

JC,

I have both boards also. The Tyros is a better board in all aspects. Even the optional speakers are good enough for a small room. I am selling my 2100 for $950 is you are interested. Otherwise, check out Alto Music in Middletown, NY. I got my Tyros there for $2499.

Tim

Thanks too all!! For your response.
It is one thing to demo in a store and another to own both!! That is why I asked, and as usual, received the info I wanted from all of you.
I am selling my SD1 (On Ebay Now) and deciding between the PA1X and the Tyros. If I go with Yamaha it would definitly be the Tyros. I only asked the question because the 2100 was so impressive. It appears to me they improved the Key feel a bit?? Over the 2000?? Although still not what I would prefer.
Coming off the SD1 the key feel of the Tyros is still not what I would like but it appears this is were most KB's are these days. Thus, my interest in the PA1x!! I just heard today that Korg USA has received and shipped units in the US. I may get my hands on one shortly, if I do I will post my impressions. Once again, Thank You!!

As a 2k owner (who is really a pianist) I think you'd find the 2k's key feel a big downer if you are currently on an SD1.
