JOIN THE AMERICAN IDOL FOR THREAD-HIJACKERS NOW!!

go on, do it! you know you want to! and I want you to!
I love it when you have personal squabbles, get into insults, go completely off topic in the middle of a good thread, never listen but just keep repeating yourself, take it personally if someone honestly disagrees, make accusations, tell others if they criticize you to just not read the post, write lead-ins in the subject line that say nothing about the topic, and anything else that you can think of that will distract from others enjoying the free exchange of info and advice. the more you do that, the more I love it. Especially if you just do it here.

So i have set up this thread to accomodate y'all. Please take advantage of it. It's your opportunity for maximum
exposure! why get your act stuck in the middle of some other thread where it may not even be noticed except for the few sincere posters on it who must suffer it..when you can keep coming back to this thread, AND BE A STAR!!!!!!!

I welcome anyone who wants to join me as judge to find
the best thread-hijacker on SZ.

This is not meant as a hijack, Moe...honest...but I have just one iddy biddy question.

Are you a self appointed judge, or were you voted in democratically?

Now, I'll bow out, and let those pesky hijackers go to work.

No No ian , you are being too modest (you were the heavy favorite, you know) and from your first post here i am declaring you the front-runner! as far as bowing out..you have never done that before, why start now???

ian, you are discussing hijacking, which is staying on topic--and you have not insulted me directly yet...if you keep doing that you will soon lose your status as front-runner for American Idol Hijacker!

Oh wait a minute..whew..you had me worried for a sec..
but now I see you have twice spelled my name Moe, as in the Three Stooges..very cool. very subtle, too. much better
than keysvocalsSUX! congrats, u are back in front! ( i hate to discourage anyone, but don't see how there is anyone out there that will be able to touch you..but i can dream, can't I?

For pete's sake fellas... Are we "men" on this forum or are we a bunch of little girls???? I'm starting to get confused. Lately when deciding to post on the Zone, I don't know whether I should place an order for a box of "Thin Mints" or "Peanut Butter" cookies

Come on guys... Step away from the Zone for a day or so, do some push-ups, rub some dirt on it and get back into the game. We're two steps shy of needing a "crossing guard" on the forum.

Please, EVERYONE "even you Ian" has been responsible for hi-jacking a topic on this forum..... I've seen topics get hi-jacked and the hi-jacking wasn't even meant to happen. We all have such different personalities on this forum that in the spirit of a topic we at times can go off course. That's what makes things interesting on the Zone.

I've done it, Ian YOU have done it, we all have at one time or other.

Sorry Squeak....but Moe has got this thing going on about hijackers, and I thought you might have been a REAL one....he'll be so happy if he can catch one.

Now, have you got yourself a new synth yet...give up on the Yamaha Mini-Mo?

The way I look at it Ian.., is "all" of us have hi-jacked topics. I've hi-jacked topics before, and did it by accident. I'll admit to that Many of us have gone off topic, where it started about apples, and in the end no one knew what the hell we were talking about to begin with....

And I'm not goint to answer your question about synths because if I did guess what?? "YOU" just hi-jacked the topic.

Well Moe...just a false alarm...back to the foxholes.

This post is just getting people confused...why not give it up and go back to your sax?

There are no hijackers here.

I'm sorry I won't be able to help you any more...you're on your own, buddy....good luck!

Ian, one of the characterisitics of a champ is persistence. You have that in spades, probably why so few will be brave enough to take you on for this title. just look at how you keep misspelling Mo..you are dauntless! Kudos.

but i will be patient, as you suggest. the more candidates that come in here, the less they will be bothering the nice
folks on other threads. which is part of the purpose of this thread, so act as an a--hole magnet. hard to believe you're the only one so far.thanks for coming in here and dispaying that to everyone in no uncertain terms.

and Squeak..hey man, you don't get it..coming in here and criticizing me and Ian for acting like jerks? hey, that's what this thread is for..!!!!!!!!!! better get out unless you want to get down and dirty with Ian..and "Moe Sux"

Well, folks, this is second time Ian has said bye..guess he must really mean it this time. Hope he has not gone off to bother any other threads..I was really trying to hold him here, believe me, but I was only able to for a short time..he's just too clever for me!!!! and I was just about to say some really nice things about him, but since he won't be reading them, I don't see the point. But he is still first in the Idol standings, in spite of Squeak, whose attempt to hijack a thread set up exclusively for bad behavior, by making nice, was a really clever ploy, but no cigar.

please someone, get in here and give it a shot..surely Ian
can't be the best(worst?) we've got.... or... is he??
anybody ready to do some voting yet? nominations?

To get people to think and respond to these points, I will post it in this ridiculous and childish thread.

Is the reason why a few persons here on synthzone don’t want 76 keys on an arranger keyboard because they just don’t want and like 76 keys, or is it that they think 76 keys would make the arranger too too heavy, or that they have submitted to Yamaha’s brainwashing that we don need 76 keys and the 61 keys is enough for us arrangers.

If Yamaha made the PSR 3000 or the Tyros 2 with the same sounds and features but with 76 keys, 2lbs more than what they are respectively and $100 more than what they sell for, would they still by it or would they go and buy the Genesys pro (which is 61 keys)?

And how about the argument that the big three manufacturers use that arranger players are too dumb to use arranger modules? While synth players are superior so they make modules for synth players.

Look at Korg, they make a good keyboard in the Pa1x but refuse to make a module stating that there is no market for modules. But they now have a M3 keyboard and simultaneously, they release a M3 module. They really have a low impression of arranger users.

So we as arranger players are stuck with Gem and Ketron for modules.
But neither of them can get it right.

Ketron decided not to have some of the basic arranger features on the midijay like style creation.
And Gem forgot that they were making a module and made it too big and forgot to have midi implementation so you can control it from a controller keyboard.

So lets get down to some real arranger talk where people can “learn”.

When is the Spring thaw, up in Nova Scotia? Isn't it time you dug yourself out of the house and got a real life......?

Probably reduced to cooking old Yamaha brochures to survive, by now (after wiping your bum with them and posting what you found 'written' there.....)!

Diki, this post is no sillier than all the boasting that you do on some of your posts.

I'm sure your playing is much better than it sounds, but pleeese...the hot air generated in your bragging could heat a small home here in Cape Breton...and it gets pretty cold here.

If you can't handle a dig, then top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

I saved some brochures just for you...BIG ones....

I think Nigel does more laughing at this stuff than anyone...but other than all the heaving, huffing and puffing, no musicians were harmed during these proceedings...the only ones that got a little put out were the old farts that have forgotten how much fun it is to be immature.

To the Genesys,(hereinafter TTG)
why are you adding an intelligent post to this absurd thread? are trying to hijack it? I believe you are...good news, the phones are ringing off the hook, you're going
to Hollywood next week!

now that I've fallen victim to your hijack, I'll address the good issues you raised: re 76: the reason they won't make them is because they don't make trombones. They know people associate the #76 with the tune: #76 Trombones-
(from the show and movie The Music Man)and every time they would say: buy our 76, they are afraid people will buy trombones instead. and if so many owned trombones, the whole economy would collapse because it's hard enough for the few trombonists out there now to get a gig--imagine if thousands more joined the ranks. Frightening.
Mo
ps..i know my answer may seem odd, but it makes as much sense as any reason they give for not making them.
actually they have no reason, except to aggravate us all, and when we get aggravated we run out buy new 61-key jobs because we are frustrated. Ever hear of someone selling their 76-key models because of "too many keys??????" NOT!!!!!

Personally, I'd rather have 2 manuals and drawbars. WTH, give me a 25 note pedalbord too. But keep the weight under 25 pounds.

Unlike some people in SZ, I do know the difference between a "dig" and an "insult".

My posts are usually "tongue-in-cheek"(accompanied by appropriate smilies) and I feel bad if I think I might have strayed into other territory with a reply that someone doesn't deserve, no matter how annoying they are.

I pass on my aMoican Idol crown and mantle to you, Moe, as you seem more interested in this stuff than I.

Just don't wear them to your gig....unless it's at Burger King.

I wish you every success in your new role.

That's a very sharp tongue, and an awful lot of cheek.

You only THINK you know the difference.

I've been trying to think of the right word for a person that refuses to follow the advice he gives others....

Oh yeah.... It's 'hypocrite', isn't it?

Sorry about the edit, but it's just occurred to me that you probably learned that big word this morning, so I'll forgive your misuse of it...this time.

That's assuming that the viewers vote really does count. Kinda like radio today. They play the music we want to hear. Yeah right.

BTW, what's up with this forum. I have to log in everytime I want to post now.Wasn't always that way.

holy cow, i go away for a day and there's 43 replies! I thought only Ian would visit me on this lonely thread! i'm so flattered by all this attention, was it something i said?
I promise i won't let it go to my head..which reminds me,
can anybody write a lyric like this today:
You go to my head
And you linger like a haunting refrain
And i find you spinning round in my brain
Like the bubbles in a glass of champagne
You go to my head
Like a sip of sparkling burgundy brew
And i find the very mention of you
Like the kicker in a julep or two--
The thrill of the thought
That you might give a thought
To my plea, casts a spell over me
Still i say to myself
Get ahold of yourself
Can't you see that it never can be
You go to my head with a smile
That makes my temperature rise
Like a summer with a thousand julys
You intoxicate my soul with your eyes
Though i'm certain that this heart of mine
Hasn't a ghost of a chance
In this crazy romance
You go to my head, you go to my head

and so to bed..keep up the good work, everyone..
let's shoot for the record..and prove we are all
hijackers at heart...I know I am....

Mo (without an e)
Ian, sorry, but my wife says the e makes me look fat.

Eeyawn, sorry about the whole 'hypocrite' bit, it's just that I haven't learned to communicate completely in Emoticon.

But I see it's your native tongue. Best of luck with your English lessons, though, or whatever passes for English up there in Lapland, or Shangri-La, or wherever the hell you are snowed in.....! (Insert emoticon for 'I just flamed you, but want to excuse myself by typing a few punctuation marks')

Dickie, is that a conclusion or simply the place where you got tired of thinking?

Have you ever noticed that whenever you sit behind a keyboard, some really boring guy starts typing?

If wit was axle grease, you wouldn't have enough to grease the dynamo on a lightening bug's ass.

Moe was hoping to catch more hijackers, and not a two legged domesticated bore.

Instead of wasting your time and mine replying to my posts, why not dig out your drool stained play-by-numbers books and work on your music...be productive, not boring.

Congratulations Moe...you are #1

I don't think Dickie will be jealous...I know I'm not...the burden of being #1 is far to much to bear, but, you seem to have broad shoulders, so good luck, and may you always find good reeds.
