I have a choice to get one or the other (of course paying a few hundred extra for the XV). Is it worth the extra few hundred bucks or should I just get a 2080? I owned 2 JV1080's (just sold 1 for a bit of extra cash) and I have ordered an XV already (although I can still change my mind for the JV if I want to).

Any opinion regarding the above would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Change your username and you might get more responses.......don't ask me why........

Anyway, the 3080 has 128-note polyphony, which, if you do much piano work, is a god-send. It also takes Rolands new series of wave expansion cards (2 slots) as well as the the XP/JV cards (4 slots). Trust your instincts and shell out the extra dough. I have the XV-88 on order myself.

Well I might even consider calling myself 'Rolandasm' now that I'm also getting a XV3080!! Thanks for the advice!

Yes the XV is a definete step forward from the JV's- however, the JV's are still great instruments and that's why I'm holding on to my JV1080!

Now I'm going to have to go and buy some more expansion boards- DAMN!!!!
