Some nice creativity being displayed here today. I love to see it.

I admire those of you who compose original scores and write lyrics...a quality I don't have. But, there is plenty of creativity in restructuring covers, writing parodies and putting together medleys and builing song lists that result in repeat clients for our work.

Changing lyrics to fit a special occasion, such as the funeral Scott is doing, is a compliment to the original author.

Entertainment for those of us who play commercially does not have to be a re-hash of the same ol' same ol'. My audiences expect the familiar...songs they know and love...but just to parrot the originals can get boring for audiences and performers. Unless its a sing-along designed for nursing homes, I almost always put my "spin" on a song. I know many of you do also. There is a lot of creativity among the members here. Just one more thing I love about the forum.
