I have just added two songs to my website; they were both recorded with my VA7. The first one is "Samba pa ti" by Santana; as you know, this song begins with a slow tempo and then -in the second part- switches to a bright, almost happy mood, to say that lifes goes on after all. I would like to dedicate this song to my friends Scott (because he is actually in a sad moment of his life) and Eric (because he, like me, is a big Santana fan). I realize that this song is not perfect, especially because I could not find a better style for the first part, but hope you will tolerate its imperfections.
The second song is an old Perez Prado hit: "Mambo Jambo", dedicated to those of you who heard it played by Perez Prado himself, the one and only "King of Mambo".
Hope you all enjoy.
Andrea

Hi Andrea,

great song. Samba Pa Ti was actually the first Santana song I learned on my guitar back in 1985. I don't hear it to often here in the US on radio or else where. The Style works actually pretty well.
I also like your Mambo.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Eric

Wht an incredibily beautiful Carlos Santana ballad. Both the guitar and organ pad/solos sound terrific . . . filled with lots of beauty, emotion, and pathos. Definitely one of my fav renditions of yours so far.

Mambo Jambo reminded me a lot of Mambo #5, which was such a big hit here in the US a few years ago. Can I assume you used a Mambo #5 inspired style included with the VA7? Did Perez Prado compose both these tunes?

Looking forward to your arrival here this weekend. - Scott

Eric,
I was sure that you would have liked this song; the problem is that I am almost out of recordable Santana tunes, so I will take advantage of our forthcoming get together to discover more of your musical preferences...

Scott,
until now I did not realize how Samba pa ti could be an appropriate song for the moment you are living...and yes, both Mambo n°5 and Mambo Jambo were originally written and recorded by Perez Prado.
Well, the next time I will record a song will be most likely in Berkeley!
