Anyone know how many notes the internal sequencer will hold for a song in the PSR-1000? The only plus to the direct disk recording on my 550 is that you can have a song consisting of more than 100,000 notes because it writes straight to disk, and If I'm correct it formats a floppy to 1 MB.. How much space does the PSR-1000 allow.. Is the song recording memory also shared with the style recording memory...??

Squeak: This may be difficult.

Page 92 of the PSR2000/1000 manual says:

The internal memory capacity of the PSR2000/1000 is about 580KB (PSR2000) / 260KB (PSR1000).

When you store data to these locations, all file types (voice, style, song, registrations, etc) are stored TOGETHER.

There appears to be a blatant contradiction in the manual because the PSR2000/1000 Specification Chart on page 162 says that PSR2000/1000 internal flash memory capacity is 1MB and 512 KB respectively.

Anyone else notice this?

Geez... 580kb and 260kb... That's not good at all.... If it were 1mb then that would translate into 1000kbs... Why didn't they just add 1 mb to both boards???? If the PSR-1000 is only 260kbs, then that's not much space at all especially since everything is stored there including voices, styles, songs, ect.... It's fortunate my PSR-550 has separate memory for styles.. I think it has over 7,000 notes for style recording and you can get like 135,000 notes for song recording.. How hard would it have been for Yamaha to add 1mb to the new PSR's??? I doubt it would have cost much..

Agreed. Btw did you guys know that the new Yamaha Tyros's internal flash memory is ONLY 3.3 MB? A substantial improvement over the PSR2000, but still pretty measly considering how cheap memory is these days.

In the meantime, it sure would be valuable to know what the internal flash memory capacity of the PSR2000 and PSR1000 "REALLY" is.

Is the PSR2000's flash memory capacity:
1) 580kb or 2) 1MB

Is the PSR1000's flash memory capacity:
1) 260kb or 512 kb

Perhaps Steve Deming can tell us. Steve?

Thanks, - Scott
