Anyone know anything about the Oberheim PB-13 midi bass pedals. They were manufactered by Viscount (Italy).

Like whats the midi spec and how well are they built?

This is all I could find. The price seems reasonable for a decent set of pedals. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

That's all I could find as well - the price does seem very reasonable so I may well be tempted!

Thanks

I used to sell Viscount organs in the late 70's. They were an inexpensive line of organs and they were cheaply constructed. I would hope that their quality has improved.

The link provided doesn't tell you anything about the pedals. Are they midi pedals and you are going to need a bass module for them or are they self contained with their own internal tone generator? Myself I use the Roland PK-5 pedals. They are built like a tank.

I have used a Fatar Pedalboard for ten years without any problems. http://www.synthtopia.com/items/Fatar/FATMP113.htm

I appreciate that these units aren't as well made as the Fatar or Roland units, but I'm prepared to accept this because they are cheap!

These are midi pedals; I already have an Alesis nanobass module; or I would use them with my PSR 3k.

I'd love to know why the Fatar and Roland units are so expensive; you can get 88 key weighted keyboard master controllers for not much more outlay!

Mac, If you look at the Roland and Fatar (and I have Hammond MidiStep) pedals you will see two important features: 1) they are literally built like tanks. Metal housings and pedals with heavy duty plastic. 2) There are control surfaces that let yu adjust everything from volume to pitch and sustain (release). They can also be used to send midi signals besides bass notes.

The Oberheim may or may not have these features. I know I've seen Korg pedals that have one footswitch. How the rest of the features are controlled is a a BIG ?
