Mac, If you look at the Roland and Fatar (and I have Hammond MidiStep) pedals you will see two important features: 1) they are literally built like tanks. Metal housings and pedals with heavy duty plastic. 2) There are control surfaces that let yu adjust everything from volume to pitch and sustain (release). They can also be used to send midi signals besides bass notes.

The Oberheim may or may not have these features. I know I've seen Korg pedals that have one footswitch. How the rest of the features are controlled is a a BIG ?
